Around 2017-2018 I witnessed my neighbor upstairs putting his items and his entire closet in dozens and dozens of black garbage bags. Two men came to collect what looked to be 40+ bags of items. Obviously I was alarmed and asked the landlord if there were bud bugs upstairs. We received a curt response, “One bedbug”
I woke up with several bites on the same location of my body during the course of a few days during the winter of 2019. I reported it to the landlord who was incredulous becaus

e she believed that bedbugs don’t exist in the winter. She sent an exterminator anyway who took apart the bedroom to spray.
In 2020 my family member woke up with several bites in the middle of the night and we asked the landlord if there were any apartments with a bedbug problem in the building. We only received a curt and rude response, “One.” She waited until the last possible minute to admit there was an infestation and unfortunately happened in the apartment directly next door. After some goading about details the landlord begrudgingly admitted our neighbor saw two bedbugs. Very odd that she was forced to send an exterminator after we requested but not after the neighbor reported them.
