My roommate and I were rushed into signing a lease on 2/15/20 for a gorgeous multi-unit apartment and we officially moved in on Saturday, 2/22/20. We lived in the first floor of an incredibly spacious unit with 12 ft ceilings. On Wednesday, the 2/26/20, my roommate woke up to bed bug bites. That evening, we searched for more and found them coming out of her baseboards and crawling into my room. (We also found a dead roach in her belongings).Since then, we've found multiple bed bugs crawling arou

nd the apartment and in our belongings. Our landlord is stalling the communications through our building manager so our requests for reimbursement are useless. We have been staying with family members and living out of our backpacks since that Wednesday. They had an exterminator come in on the day after we found them but we still see bugs everywhere (we learned this is normal after an initial treatment) and told us that we were not technically infested. We were told that although there are still bugs everywhere, the unit is still livable and we are expected to still pay rent along with putting our clothes in the dryer everyday to keep them from spreading. We only go over to dry our cloth belongings on high heat and store them. It's now a storage unit and not a home for us. No place with bed bugs is habitable, especially when you're being bitten.
