Around the beginning of May, 2021 I started noticing bites on my skin. Assuming they were spider or mosquito bites, I thought nothing of it. On May 7 I noticed a pattern of bites on my hip and torso. The next day my naval itched and I lifted my shirt to see a bedbug walking across my stomach. I smashed it and blood went everywhere around my stomach and naval. I then found another live bedbug walking on my mattress. Thursday the 13th we had our first fumigation after five days of washing and/or d

rying all fabrics in the home at the highest temperature setting and storage everything in sealed plastic bags. Monday the 24th was our second fumigation. This weekend (Memorial Day Holiday) I am covering my home in diatomaceous earth to prevent a reinfestation. I have over two dozen bites on my body. The bites resemble several different kinds of bug bites and skin conditions making bedbugs difficult to detect and diagnose. The bites also itch and can continue to itch for weeks and can take months to clear up. This makes it difficult to know if I have new bites or am just irritated by old bites. Plus not everyone reacts to the bites. I live in a 16 unit apartment building built in 1930.
