Bed bugs are everywhere. Hotels are doing everything but it is a losing battle since the use of cancerous chemical "DDT" was eliminated. Contrary to beliefs, it has nothing to do with cleanliness. Exterminators can only kill the bug. Eggs are harder to kill, which is why a room may take several sprayings. No hotel wants to be on such a list and do their best to eradicate the pests. Unfortunately, nothing works as well as DDT. There is no way to prevent an outbreak, even in your home. They a

re great hitchhikers and can be picked up ANYWHERE. Their name is really a misnomer.

A current guess stayed in room 2212 nice view mattress rip up had to get extra sheet covering woke up bites on legs no help from management

We stayed at the hotel July 5-8, can't remember the room # but believe it was on the 16th floor. Though we did not experience any bites while staying, within two weeks of being home we had them in our home. The first question we were asked by the exterminator was "have you recently traveled."

There is no way of knowing if this is where we picked them up, but it seems the logical start. We have now invested in our first treatment plan at a cost of nearly $1K.

Next hotel visit, wherev

er...I will be much more diligent about checking the mattresses.

My peace to all who read this.

May 15, 2012. Room 1621. Bed bug walking on my mattress cover discovered at 9pm. Desk alerted and they came and saw and moved me to 1604. I had a sleepless night. Next morning talked to front desk and they said sorry. Asked to speak with manager but nothing. Asked again and nothing. Then I sent out a tweet and facebook post on Renaissance corporate site and that got their attention. I talked with the manager and they gave me a free night.

I don't think they would have done anything had

I not sent out the tweet and facebook post.

Continuation of note after inadvertantly hitting the wrong button and sending.
Please, instead of being defensive, just deal with it and correct the problem. Why would I make a claim that was not true. Both my husband and I are in the medical field and are very versed in these areas. I hope you have been able to deal with the problem successfully. It appears that you have as there are no recent additions that I see.

3/4/11 bed bug on pillow. Room was changed after verification of bed bugs by hotel staff.

I got free parking when I told them we found a bed bug in our room. We were told the manager would call us but he never did.

I stayed there in November. Killed a bed bug on the bed at 3 am. It was a bed bug This is a crap hotel

In response to the claim from an anonymous person, let the record stand that the room in question was taken out of service immediately and checked by Orkin Exterminators. It was concluded that no bed bugs were found. If you would like to check with Orkin, please call them at 800-562-5610 and reference invoice number 58417838 room 2615 to validate this.

Let me add, in response to the guest's claim, we refunded their Marriott Rewards points in the amount of 35,000 points; as well as covered al

l incidentals per the guest's request. This was extended even though the room was not contaminated.

We believe it only fair that anyone making a claim as potentially damaging as this to a business, be required to identify themselves so we can investigate the claim and respond accordingly.

I reported to the Manager onn Sept.4, 2010, that I observed many bite marks on my neck after spending only 2 hours in the bed. It was aweful. Never got to sleep.
Then I sent an email to the corporate office, but I never received a response.

In response to the posts dated back in October 2009, we immediately fixed the situation back in October by hiring exterminators to rid us of this problem experienced in 3 rooms. We also destroyed the mattresses and bedding to ensure the problem was rectified. No other incidents have happened since. We were newly renovated in 2008 with all new rooms, furniture and bedding so this was most unfortunate for us! Rest assured we operate a well run, clean hotel and take these matters very seriously

.

Furthermore, we were just rated 4th in the brand (out of 140 hotels) for overall guest satisfaction! We are very proud of our hotel and employees!

Thank you.

Stayed on October 14 and 15 in a room overlooking the highway. Now have bites all over. Also spent time in conference rooms on the ballroom and fourth floor levels.

None visable, but came home with bites after 3 night stay from Oct 7-10. I don't remember the room number, but I think it was on the 27th floor.
