As in the previous report, we had a nationally recognized pest control company come in and inspect the room thoroughly and found absolutely no evidence of any bed bugs, past or present in the room that the guest claimed they received bed bug bites in.
We have documentation from the company stating the room was inspected and they found nothing indicating any bed bugs were present. We would be happy to furnish the documentation to anyone wishing to review it.
The pest control company cited nu

merous different things that can mimic a bed bug bite; including a reaction to the laundry chemicals we use, which are Proctor & Gamble items such as Tide & Downey. We also use Clorox Bleach on all bedding for sanitary purposes, which can cause rash like irritations on the skin for anyone who is sensitive to such chemicals. This may not be apparent in home usage because a smaller concentration is used for personal use.
Many different bug bites can also mimic bed bug bites including mosquitos, spider bites, etc. In many cases just because someone is staying in a hotel they assume bed bugs are the culprit. That is why when a claim is made that bed bugs are present in a guest room that room is immediately sealed until inspected by our pest control company. As precautions after inspection, whether present or not, we discard any linens and cover mattresses and box springs with bed bug proof covers. We can assure our guests that bed bugs in our hotel are not a threat, and as previously stated, anyone wishing to review documentation showing the inspection of these rooms is welcome to do so.

Thank you,
Hampton Inn-Fishkill management

Also stayed at the Hampton Inn in Fishkill in August and we experience bed bug bites. It was so bad that I've become paranoid staying in hotels.

We as management had the room inspected by a professional pest control company. The company did a thorough inspection with trained personnel and found no evidence of any bed bugs whatsoever. The black specks reported to us were non-existent.

We have documentation proving that the there is absolutely no evidence of any bed bugs in the room, thus, the guest either encountered them elsewhere, such as a movie theater, restaurant, or any place that has soft seating, or, they simply do not have bit

es from bed bugs. Whatever the case, they did not encounter bed bugs at our hotel, as proven by the documentation we have from our pest control company.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Fishkill 8/18/11 through 8/21/11. We checked the mattresses before bringing in our luggage and we noticed a few black specks on the underside of the mattresses, but assumed it was just random pieces of dirt and that the room was OK. The evening of 8/20 I began to itch badly in the abdominal area. By morning I had numerous large round bites, many of which were in a straight row, which is typical of bed bugs. These became quite inflamed and began to form a crusty sur

face. The management refused to look at these and said that without having an exterminator examine the room, they could not acknowledge that this was due to bed bugs and would consult with an exterminator the following week. When I returned home I called the hotel. The manager told me that their pest consultant had not found evidence of infestation and that what I had was something I should consult a dermatologist for. Obviously, they were not going to admit to having bed bugs and leave themselves open to litigation.
