I stayed at the Super 8 - Cherry Capitol in Traverse City on Feb 17 and 18, 2012. The first night we did not turn on the heat and it was quite cold in the room. We didn't notice any bugs that night. However, after returning from skiing the following afternoon, we were chilled and turned the heat on. A few hours later, the bed bugs came out. We confirmed that they were indeed bed bugs with online pictures. I caught one of them and took it to the desk and complained. The desk clerk said the
y had never had a bed bug problem before. He found us a room in another motel for the night and Super 8 paid for it. He also said theat the charge for the night at the Super 8 would be removed from my credit card, but two days later it is still there. We will see.

I checked in to Hotel 8 1870 n us hwy 31 n on oct 7th 2011. I noticed bed bugs later that evening and went to report them to the on duty staff. I was told they could not leave the desk unattended and investigate. The next morning I reported the bugs to the new desk employee and was told I should not be inspecting the room as it was not my job to do so.
I had already paid for the room but called around to find another and they were booked in the area because of local events taking place. I was
over a thousand miles from home and spent four sleepless nights with the light on, killing bugs and getting bitten.
I returned home and called the hotel to complain. They flatly denied a refund and stated the rooms were free of bed bugs. They are not!
