I was a guest at this hotel from 11-11-20 thru 11-13-20 and received bedbug bites, the hotel did nothing about it. After the 1st night, I developed a series of bites on my left arm, along with itching and considerable swelling. Upon my return to the hotel, I asked the clerk to be switched to another room and told her I suspected the problem was bedbug bites, she asked to see the bites and I did.

She was very polite and apologetic, switched me to another room, and told me the manager would i

nspect the room personally the next AM and reach out to me before I checked out. Upon checkout, I asked the clerk if the problem had been taken care of in my previous room as I had not heard from the manager. She asked me to tell her the problem again, and informed me housekeeping did not see anything wrong with that room.

I showed her my swollen, red and now oozing arm, and told her that I am 100% certain now that it was bedbugs, that it came from that room, as I had not stayed anywhere else, and that for the sake and comfort of future guests that the room needs to be fumigated. She just looked at me and shrugged.

I am a 30 year traveller and this is only the 3rd time in 1000's of hotel nights in which I was bitten by these pests. The previous 2 times I informed the hotel and they immediately told me the problem would be fixed - this one did not seem to care. I also contacted IHG corporate twice on the issue, and they have yet to reply - my concern is that other guests don't have to go through this. My severe reaction to bedbugs is one thing, but making sure you don't take them home with you is another complete hassle altogether.
