We stayed there on 8/17/2015 . Upon arrival, I inspected the room immediately and found everything to be satisfactory. In fact the hotel was beautiful. We enjoyed the day at the pools. We went to bed at approx. 10:30pm. My husband was awakened at 12:30am by something biting him. I convinced him it must've been a mosquito. About an hr. later he was woken up by another pinch on his arm (m which was under the pillow) He found 2 small (young/nymph) bed bugs under his pillow. when he put the bugs on

the night stand and pressed on it, it popped expelling blood. We then did a more thorough investigation and found dried blood under the sheet on the mattress cover. We called the front desk Immediately, the clerk sent the security officer to investigate our claim. After finding proof and taking photos, the clerk then offered us a different room across the parking lot.By then I was so freaked out, I would've never been able to sleep. We declined and were refunded the cost of our stay. We then drove all the way home to NJ , arriving at home at 6:00 am.

I was considering going back to this resort ... My children love it here. The same summer as these reports ... 2011 we stayed and were convinced we had a bedbugs in our room. Upon checking in we saw what I thought was a tick crawling on the mattress ... After arriving home and doing research, I realized it was a bedbug. I left the resort with bites all over my legs ... I fumigated everything we packed and have had no problems at my home. I went to my doctor and she said it was bedbug bites. I ca

lled the hotel and the said there was NO WAY because of the type of mattress they use.
I was conflicted about it thinking *maybe* I could have been bit by something on the beach.
My kids are begging to go back this summer but now that I see reports that match mine (the owner said no one else complained and our stay was after these) ... We will not visit again. I realize any hotel can get bedbugs... They do not get my business because they were dishonest with me.

Both our General Manager and myself spoke at length today with this guest. We did inspect the room and it was not a beg bug. We have assured the guest that if they have any further concerns or inconveniences that we will take full responsiblity. In full disclosure we did have an issue with a rollaway mattress that we did contact our pest control company to come do a prevantive treatment during this guests stay. As bed bugs are making a strong comeback it is imperative that we take all concerns v

ery seriously. It is an issue that all hotels must deal with and we need to make sure our guests feel confident in their hotel choice. As this guest is a longtime FSK family patron I am pleased that we were able to gain important insight from their perspective and we are looking forward to them staying with us again in the future.

On July 4, 2011 We found 3 dead bed bugs in our linens and we called the manager on duty (Ben). He was very nice but he too insisted that they can't get bed bugs because of the type of mattress that have. He offered to send us to a different hotel, but we denied because we thought Okay we will wait until tomorrow when housekeeping and the General Manager (Heather) comes to look at the bugs we found (we had them in a baggie for proof). The next day around noon we got a call from Heather stating

that it was NOT bed bugs that it was Weevil Beatles. Okay, we will give them the benefit of the doubt and trust that she wouldn't lie to us about it. Well, NOT AN HOUR LATER...pest control showed up...Hmmm? wonder why they are here? DUH! So we got home and looked up Weevil Beatles...not even close to what we found! I was dumbfounded! It was Bed Bugs! So I called FSK as soon as I found this out and talked to Ben and I told him what I found out and asked him why the pest control was there and he whispered...housekeeping found Bed Bugs in 4 rooms in the Linens...We were lied to. Heather knew there was Bed Bugs because the had called the Pest Company to come out before they even talked to us and lied to us about the bugs. We stayed there for 17 years and the last three years there were terrible. The same manager (Heather) found out we got our boat parked in last year and did nothing about it..we hhad to push our boat out by hand. The Security Man (night shift) is the only helpful one there so far. John the Maint. Man who quit there was a hard working who cared too. Anyway..the point is, we were lied to about the bugs and they tried to cover their "you know whats". I understand every place can get bed bugs...BUT I came down without them and I sure as hell are not going home WITH THEM! They should have been checking thhe linens more carefully and not tried to hide the problem. I asked to talk to the owner and they wouldn't let me...I was sent to the General Manager's Voice Mail instead...She is the one who lied to us in the first place...you really think I will believe her now???

As the Owner I tried to look up any guest that reported any type of bug issue during the week of March 25th or room changes on the 26th. We have temperpedic mattress which are resistant, we have certification for our housekeeping staff and we are dedicated to make sure our rooms are pest free as bed bugs can happen to any property any where. I would encourage any guest to notify the property in which they are staying if this type of issue occurs as most hotel owners and managers want to solve an

y problems quickly and professionally. Though not all pest issues are bed bugs we it is important for us to me on top of any issue. If you have any concerns about our property I would ask you to call me directly to and I will be happy to answer any questions personally. I would also request this poster to contact me directly so I can investigate their concerns as well.

My family visited this resort March 25th, 26th and 27th. Upon arrival, the sheets looked terrible with spots everywhere but we didn't see any live bugs. Later, while sitting in the bed, a bedbug crawled accross the pillow. We smashed it and blood went everywhere. We then took the sheets off and looked everywhere, but we didnt' see any more bugs. We decided to spend the night, and the next morning woke up covered in bites with visible bugs in the bed. We called house keeping, and the manage

r came to our room. She said that it looked like something but insisted that they "couldn't" get bedbugs because of the type of mattresses that they had. They did move our room to a different building and we had no more problems. After returning home, I took my children to the doctor and he said that it looked like the bedbug rash. The owner still insisted that it couldn't have been bedbugs and offered for us to come back. I would never go there again.
