I stay here when ever I'm in town and never had an issue until now. Room 224 had them and i was switched to 226 which was fine the rest of the night. I won't be staying here anymore and its not just because of the bed bugs! All of the choice hotels in the nation are going through a mandatory renovation and updating however this hotel has fallen short and went the cheap.route The entire 2nd floor was supposed to be done" but it was only painted and had a new TV an ptac unit, everything else was t

he same ten year old shit that didn't work. The reason for this,i believe is the "family" operating the hotel doesn't want to pay for the upgrades and i see it every week.

April 1, 2011 checked in to room 115 which didn't look clean but checked sheets and shower and decided to stay. Awoke at 2:30 thinking I felt something. After getting up and turning on lights saw bed bugs running for headboard. Killed a few that were full of blood and spent the next hour making sure I wasn't leaving with any. So at 3:30 I was driving around Peoria deciding what to do. Finally returned to hospital where my husband was a patient. 24 hours later I started to breakout from bites.

We stayed here 9/16/11 to 9/23/11. We chose this hotel because of reasonable rates for staying at least 5 days. We weren't after extras, but this hotel offered a pool, breakfast, TV, and wireless internet. Our previous stays at other Sleep Inns had been positive. The

service and cleanliness of the room seemed fine. The toilet rocked when you sat on it and one hand towel rack was broken. The desk clerk told us that they were in the process of doing maintenance.
On our last morning as I was sitting on the bed, I looked and saw three bugs crawling on my pillow. No indication of bugs until then. We caught them and my husband took them to the desk clerk. She said she gave them to the manager. While he was gone, I saw and caught five more baby bugs from the same pillow. When he returned we pulled the sheets and mattress pad off. The mattress had two huge rusty colored stains as if the bed had been wet and rusted. The stains were covered by the pad. As we left, we gave the second group of bugs to the manager as well as the pillow that they crawled on. We looked up bed bugs on the internet and saw that the bugs were definitely bed bugs.
Although neither of us had any bite marks visible at that time, by the time we got home I had evidence of the bites(30 bites with raised tops)which matched photos on the internet. We have been trying to make sure that we are not bringing any into our home by washing everything possible in HOT water and drying them in the dryer on High heat for at least an hour. Our suitcases and everything else are still outside in black plastic trash bags until we can figure out what more to do. As of Oct. 3, I now have 109 bed bug bites.
The hotel seems to have done nothing about it. When we called (Oct 1), they said they knew nothing about it and our room 126 is not quarantined at all. We just want to make sure that it is being professionally treated and no one else gets bitten. We will definitely check everything next time we travel much more thoroughly.
