Bed Bug Bites!!!! November 19, 2019

I am a mother of two who lives in Pasadena and I just needed one night to catch up on sleep. It has been a really rough year.

My husband and I chose to stay at the Westin and this is what happened. Not only did this happen and was I covered in bed bug bites (which urgent care verified), but the Westin was incredibly rude about it and brushed me off multiple times.
(On a side note, the Urgent care said that the sheets must have had bacteria on them as

well by the look of the bites. UGH)

One of the front desk people told me that they saw a company email about my bed bug incident. After that time calling, I was always redirected to voicemail. Not one person was kind in the process. I never yelled or used offensive language to warrant such a horrific treatment.

I had the Pasadena Health department go out. When I called the Westin (because no one had called me like they said they would), they said that the Pasadena Health department had cleared the room. When the department called me to explain the report, they said they couldn't get in the room because there was a guest occupying it. The Westin lied.

They gave the Pasadena Health department a receipt from a company that said they checked the room. Interestingly enough though, it is a company that does business with the Westin around the country. I'm guessing that they get to put on conventions at the Westin at a low cost. Whatever it was, it sounded pretty curious and not above board.

No matter what happened though, the fact is that I got eaten by bedbugs, and the hotel was unkind about it. You would expect that with this nice of a hotel they would have a better way of dealing with things.

I realize that big companies such as this one don't need to answer for their behavior and that California doesn't have any laws that protect hotel guests in these matters but I still think that this was an incredibly horrific incident. If nothing else, I hope that this review helps someone else to choose a hotel that will take care of them.

1/20/2015. Stayed in room 348 overnight. The room looked clean but when I woke up at around 4:30 AM to use the bathroom, I turned on the light, and saw a bed bug right next to me on the white bed sheet. I grabbed a napkin and squished the bug - it exploded with red blood.

Wasn't sure what kind of bug it was at first, but did some searches on the internet when I got home, and recognized the 0.5" cm bug as exactly the same size, shape and color as the bug I killed.

When I checked out, I

reported it to the hotel and gave them the dead bug.
