There has been another infestation to this address. About a year ago I started getting notices that every 3 or 4 weeks they will be treating and every living thing must be out of the apartment for 2-4 hours. Those stopped, and then about 4 months ago I started getting the notices again. I have spoken to management; they advised me they had several reports of bed bugs and roach infestations which have been going on since I arrived 2 years ago. Technically they said they had been battling it since
the "new owner came on" and I know that the new owner purchased the apartments the month I moved in. I was one of the last rentals under the old rates.
I did have an infestation about 6 months ago but didn't really understand where they came from. When I did find their nest I found probably about 20 adult sized bugs, which from research you will find can escalate fast. I thought maybe I had tracked them in on my shoes or something. This explains it. Management did not mention anything so we could prevent it. I only found out from my own inquiry about having to be out of my apartment so much. I truly feel sorry for anyone who experiences these bugs as it torments your nights and you start to suffer health issues from lack of sleep.
Anyways. I would suggest to anyone who has them. OVER REACT AND ACT FAST. I bought box spring and pillow covers ($115 a bed X 2 bed = $330), rented a carpet steamer ($45ish), purchased a clothes and wall steamer ($80), took ALL of my clothes to an industrial Laundromat ($120 for wash and fold option), bought a bed bug bomb and spray ($25ish), and checked & steamed my bed, headboard, walls, baseboards, and several other surfaces two to three times a day to catch and kill them. I looked like a crazy person walking around my apartment 3 inches from the walls staring up at the corners of the room or attacking the wall with a tissue paper to kill one I found. I kind of felt crazy doing it too but while it took me over $500 and several hours a day (and several weeks of vigilance) I finally got rid of them after about 5 weeks. I also work a full time job and go to college. It will be hard but it can be done. And since you won’t be sleeping (because you feel them on you even when they aren’t there) you will have lots of extra time to perform all of these tasks.
Good luck to everyone!

Bed bugs found in various units sporadically throughout apartment complex from approximately 5/15/10-7/5/10. We did not do anything to bring them in via the usual methods: no used furniture or clothing, no recent travel or stays in motels or friends' houses (none of our friends had them), etc. They pretty much appeared one day and we had to have the apartment sprayed several times (at our expense) before we were rid of them. It was a horrible experience. We moved out a few months later to a
house after we were bed bug free for a while. We are done with apartment living...no shared walls=less chances of getting bed bugs from neighbors!
