That last posting is an ignorant perception on how bedbug infestation occurs, and should be dismissed. This ignorance leads to tenants avoiding reporting the issue, as they think they will be judged as a dirty tenant.

Bedbugs like mosquitos thrive in an environment with their food source -- namely, your blood. They will traverse great distances to feed when their population grows, which is easy to do when you multiply as they do.

The will stay where they have a food source, but will spread if you disturb their arrangements. And removing their source does the same, as they will hunker down at first, but eventually seek out more blood.

An adult bedbug can go up to 18 months in a bag or enclosed space without a food source, and still live!! This means that you must understand that proper treatment is needed, and do so immediately.

First thing? Let them feed undisturbed until you have inspection, arrange treatment, and are ready for that last minute prep before pesticides. You don't wig when a mosquito bites you, so remember that coping so that you can eliminate this infestation, and prevent it becoming a long-term issue.

Unfortunately, they are an ancient & hardy bug that truly requires pesticides for thorough treatment of your infestation.

Infestation is a normal human experience, and does not require unkemptness or uncleanliness to thrive -- we have simply heard less about these pests in past decades due to currently banned, potent pesticides.

Please educate yourselves, and DO NOT ignore the problem or feel ashamed to report it!

you only get bed bugs when your living conditions are not good. for example sleeping on the ground or in a sleeping bag or putting your mattress on the ground without its metal frame. once they get into ur apartment in that manner they are hard to get rid of until you throw everythin out. i do not think that its the fault of the building. the roaches i can understand those there are a lot of and need to be controlled. keep ur place clean n hope ur neighbours are clean n u should not have to much of a bug problem

The bedbugs in 170 Lees Ave. were horrible. I tried every method that I could imagine to kill them. I once bought the insects killing toxicant from United States and China. But none of them worked for the bugs there. The landlord never cared about the environment that you are living.

I will never ever consider to live there again.
