Discovered bed bugs on Tues May 8 on my mattress. I had seen several blood spots on the sheets for approx a week before. Never thought much at first because I scratch in the night and sometimes bleed a little. Always been like that and never had bed bugs before. A couple of friends in this building have had them and a dickens of a time getting rid of them. Both very clean and neat people. Although it doesn't matter if you're clean and neat but your chances of find BBs are better if you're not a
I saw one adult who was not full of blood on my couch a couple of days later. Tore apart the cound but could not find any telltale leavings or more bugs. I'm hoping it was the only one but I'm not getting my hopes up. Anyway getting sprayed soon. All my clean stuff is on the balcony in sealed garbage bags and the stuff I'm not sure about is getting laundered.
Bought a product called Blaze at Canadian Tire, $9.99. Cheaper than the stuff at Dudley's which it getting near 20 bucks a can. Don't know if it's any good but it's what they had. I also, if you're not too sqeamish, squeezed along all the seams of my mattress with my fingers crushing the little bastards. I wasn't going to wait for the spray I did to kill them. I always figures I can wash my hands afterwards.
I've sealed my mattress and boxspring up in a plastic covers and I'm throwing them out as soon as I get a new one. Lot's of sales on now. Simpsons, Bay, Brick - half price. I'm going to bring it into the apartment with a bed bug cover on it and will do so every time I get a new mattress. Yes the cloth ones can be expensive if you don't want plastic but better that than the expense of buying new furniture.
We'll see how the bed bug company that City Park does that's spraying my place but I'm not leaving it up to them. I'll be spraying between times to kill any newly hatched bugs that the first spray didn't get. Also I'm caulking the baseboards and adding that chalk stuff (I don't know what it's called but it cuts them up - good for cockroaches too.) This company Airmrite Pest controls sprays twice, 2 weeks apart. I don't think that's enough. I think it should be a minimum of 3 times and probably about a week to 10 days apart. I f anybody knows about them let the forum know.

PHILP is gone and new management company called- community first developments inc, all office staff quit too,
maybe now we can get people to assist with bedbugs in these 3 buildings and get money spent on issues.
1st floor and 5th floors - both have bugs and collect garbage, check the balconies with garbage junk displays.
all have been reported and old manager did dick all.
advise to members report bugs, they are nasty and orkin was spraying before , now we have a cheap company that has
to return many times.
social housing here is bad and bugs every week, too many move in from other housing and all the dogs.
11th floormember boards dogs, these beg bugs issues have been reported, new managers need to act, report to CHFT, where co-op money is from city slickers!.
bad report card for 31 and other 2 buildings on bed bug issues.
advise people to office any bed bugs. help stop the spread of bb's..

I am Philip Eram, Property Manager, for City Park Co-operative Apartments which includes 31 Alexander St.
Normally I would not dignify immature, racist and totally fabricated comments. Especially when the individuals are not even self assured to tell us who they are and where they live. There is a saying that there are three sides to each story. Yours, mine and of course the truth. Since I have been a proud manager of this community for nearly 20 years I will only tell you the facts. Does Ci
ty Park have bed bugs? Of course we do. Who doesn't? But if having 5 apartments under treatment out of 770 units make us an underireable location then I guess I rather lose those members instead of keeping them. Our properties are occupied by decent and very conscience residents. Except those who chose to place totally inappropriate remarks and lies about this community.
We are proud of our co-operative and so are our members. We know from our waiting list that outside applicants are prepared to wait more than 7 years to move into our buildings on market rent. I also want to clarify that residents of our buildings are considered to be equal members and we do not discriminate against anyone regardless what their nationality or sexual orientation is. If anyone really and truly wants to know who we are please come and visit us and I assure you that you will be impressed not only by the quality of our properties, but mostly by the spirit of our community because we have great members. And for those of you who have chosen to lie and spread deceit I hope that you leave this property as soon as possible so that you cannot poison this great community with your ill will.
I apologize for using this board to share my comments however, I felt it is important that a public forum that is being abused by some people deserves a response. On that note, I hope that we can continue to eliminate any possible spread of bed bugs by being responsible and avoid any possibility to create an infestation. At City Park our members are always welcome to report any problem with pest control including bed bugs, as always we will provide you free service to ensure that both you and other residents can continue to enjoy your home.

This is a site for logging bedbug reports. There are other forums that would be better for exchanging information and thoughts on bedbug infestations. FYI - Bedbugs are a pest of exposure. Cleanliness and tidiness don't protect from infestation. Real knowledge and accurate information are the best defense.

Hello I've lived in City Park Co-op for 8 yrs and never heard of this nor experienced any bugs what so ever, this co-op is one of the cleanest buildings in downtown, they clean every day, unlike most regular apt buildings in the city, im sure there will be units that have them, but that is because of the people occupying the units, have you ever seen the show Hoarders? Lots of people live like pigs so of course youll get some sort of infestation, the bigger the building the more chanc
es of having dirty people live there, but majority of people live properly!

Aug/Sep/Oct 2009 - 31 alexander 1406-the guy next door told us he had bb and was going to be sprayed....a day or so after he was sprayed we found bb in our kitchen by an exhaust duct we share with neighbor....ok, no big deal we thought...then we found them in our beds ! Freak out ensued...our beds are solid foam on top of milk cartons .. we disassembled beds, washed milk cartons in bathtub, washed bedding, sprayed the strong bug spray we got from Dudleys hardware on Church St...we caulked the
baseboards..we spray neem oil mixed with water...we strip beds, and wash milk cartons every week, as recomended by Dudleys...they say it takes 6 sprays, once per week to deal with problem...we are on week 4...we have not seen any bugs for 2 weeks, but intend to strip beds and wash milk cartons every week for 3 more weeks, totaling 7 weeks...reckon it takes that long to ensure freedom from bugs...we have no complaints about management, they offered to spray but we are dealing with problem in manner described...our solution seems to be working..many thanks for sound advice from chap at Dudley's hardwear store on Church st above Wellesley...good luck to everybody with this problem...it sucks...bedbugs suck ...oh yeah, a friend is using red cedar oil which kills the bugs fast, but it was expensive and she had to import it from the states...also, we have de-cluttered big time...thats one good thing the bugs did made us declutter...every cloud has a silver lining LOL
