The management is extremely rude. If you ask them any questions or voice your concerns, the land lady starts yelling at you and speaks to you like "you are a stupid child".

Before I had entered into her office, she was on the phone with someone badmouthing a tenant. As soon as she got off the phone, she told me the name of the tenant she was badmouthing and continued calling the tenant stupid.

I had some concerns regarding the pests and said there had only been 1 case in all their history.

I moved into this building in September of 2006. September 17 I came back from a trip and there was a notice inside my door about a bedbug infestation. Then the roaches came. Then they went, then came again. Then more bedbugs. Then construction all around the building, 3 times over. Then more bedbugs in the hallway. I moved out in the summer of 2012 after 6 years of horror.

I lived in this place from February 2014 to August 2014 on the 15th for. My rent was $1650 per month plus utilities for a renovated one bedroom. I specifically asked if they had issues with cockroaches and they said no. After two months there was a complete infestation. I had a picture of over 30 cockroaches dead after they sprayed the garbage chute. I sent management photos daily on cockroaches in my own suite. I'm guessing that there were no roaches for 2 months because they sprayed it before

I moved in (makes sense!). I wish I could up load pictures because I have over a dozen. Stay clear of this place.

I have lived here for 5 years, and am only moving due to my job, but it has been a very lovely, comfortable experience living here. I live in the 26th floor and have never seen a bug of any kind, let alone bed bugs, in my apartment. They just don't exist, even after keeping the balcony door open in the summer. I think it's just because we're so high up though.

The concierge/staff/super here are all very nice. I haven't had many issues that I've had to deal with them for, but when I do interac

t, they're lovely. The building has been continually upgrading itself from a standard apartment building to almost condo level swankiness now, and it feels like a nice building compared to many standard rentals in this city.

Would recommend to live here!

Am I reading that infestations are still an issue in this building?

I lived in that building back in the late 80's.

Barely survived 6 months.

Bedbugs weren't a problem then but cockroaches were.

Spraying did next to nothing.......management mostly shrugged their shoulders and/or ignored. Ended up sleeping with the lights on and mosquito netting around my body and face to protect me. They still kept coming!

Threw all my belongings out and trashed my furniture when I was able to fin

d another place to move to and started over.

If the systemic 'building' issues in every unit weren't/aren't all fixed at the same time ie sprayed, repaired, units sealed from one another etc, all I can say is, Renter Beware!!

I have lived here since May 2009 on the 24th floor. I'm only leaving because of a life changing event. My rental experience has been one of the best of my life so far. I heard the building had some issues in the past with bedbugs but I have never encounter any. The building is a little pricey but thats the location for you. Overall I give this building a 4/5.

I never dealt with bedbugs the year that I lived here...however I would not recommend this building to anyone.
I moved out of this building a week ago after my lease was up and as soon as the bullshit with them is wrapped up I will be glad to feel so FREE from this place.
Everyone keeps to themselves pretty much so it will never feel like a home.
The apartments themselves are fine, you're typical box apartment
What sucks here is anyone who works there! Nothing can get done, you ask 5 employe

es the same question and you'll get 5 separate answers. They didn't do a proper walk through when I moved in and now that I'm moving out are charging me for pre existing damages....when they went into my apartment without notice without permission...when I was reassigning my lease to someone and according to what I signed all of that stuff wasn't supposed to happen in the first place. They didn't fix any work orders I put in the year that I lived there, they didn't address the two complaints that I put in for a whole year, and they are just generally unorganized and don't care about 90% of the tenants. They also make small unnecessary 'improvements' to the building that no one uses to justify raising the rent past Toronto's legal amount every year. No matter how prepared and on the ball you are about all of your stuff, they will find a way to mess up the simplest tasks and make your life a living hell.
If you feel like keeping your sanity and enjoying life, if you can't deal with people who are so inept at their jobs, or people that are so condescending and rude, then do not live in this building.

I have lived here for over a year and haven't had a problem and I'm quite a clean freak. The building has over 500 units and you really can't control how people live in their own unit. Frankly, some people are just dirty. We live in a big city and with a big city comes big city problems. If you see bugs in the building, tell management immediately and they will have someone in to spray immediately. As it is, I believe they have someone in to spray for bugs once a month.

I have lived in the buildng for four months now and haven't experienced bed bugs, fingers crossed. It makes me feel uneasy that bed bugs are a problem in areas of the building though. I often vacumn my apartment and check for signs of bed bugs. I agree that the building should be evacuated to be sprayed. It doens't mean much if only the targetted rooms are sprayed and others are not. They travel on clothing and could be everywhere in the building...

We stayed for 6 months with our new furniture. After that bed bugs appeared in beds and sofa, and the arm chairs. we trashed them and bought new mattresses, 6 months later they showed up. I filed a case against them , but they won. I moved immediately to the new building behind.

I haven't had an issue at this apartment and have been living here for over a year now. That being said I can only vouch for my apartment, and the few units near mine that I don't recall needing to be sprayed.

I am just about to move in here. Could somebody confirm that bedbugs are still an issue?

I would greatly appreciate!

I had a problem on one of the lower floors over a year ago and got bitten. The day after, a notice came through the door that they would be spraying apartments on several floors. I was a fairly new tenant at that time and was really upset over the whole thing. I spent far too much money on laundry, threw out furniture and was disgusted. Every time I go to friends places I make sure to wear clothes that i have sealed away immediately after laundering in hot water and drying in a dryer.

management in the building are responsive to doing necessary repairs, but this is a big building and probably hard to keep bugs out with a constant tenant turnover.

Since the spraying of my unit, there hasnt been a further problem here in my unit, but it is probably just a matter of time.

If I knew that there were bedbugs in this building before I moved in, I wouldnt have.

My apartment had them in September 2008. When I brought this to the attention of management, they were quick to respond. Not only was my unit sprayed, but the units to each side of me as well. This was combined with an effort on my behalf: all fabrics went into the dryer to kill the eggs, no visitors, did not leave anything on the bed ever, removed all clothing before getting out of bed and but into plastic bag so the bugs could not potentially travel.

Working together, we were able to get

rid of them within two weeks. These days, coming into contact with bedbugs is so common it is almost expected. Management was nothing but quick and professional about eliminating these pests. It's in their best interest to do so...many of them are tenants too.

Now, if only they could kick out the woman with the barking dog.

I got a good deal in this building from the 11th floor. Please let me know if the bedbugs are still a problem.

I am a current tenant at 45 Dunfield and I am posting here to say – I really have no idea where the bedbug reports are coming from.

Like many of you I noticed that a bedbug hit comes up fairly high in Google searches for "45 Dunfield" so that was obviously a concern.

I have been living here for over a year now. About to move out at the end of August, but only because we bought a house.

I have never seen a single bedbug in this building. No bites. And there are a ton of dogs in this bu

ilding too so you'd think some hitch-hiking critters would be inevitable.

Again, to reiterate, for my part I've seen NO bedbugs at 45 Dunfield in over a year (and ever, in my tenancy). Only problem I have with the building is that it's just a bit expensive.

I am interested in a apartment at this location. I already viewed it and love it but when i came home and googled the apartment address this registry came up. i have read all the information on the registry and now am not sure if it is a good idea to move into this building. Are the bed bugs still a problem there? Is the problem only in some units? or specific floors of the building? Please let me know i would really appreciate the information before I sign.

Still a problem!
Still no response to work orders.
Still bugs.
Still a problem!

Are Bed Bugs still a problem now? I've been offered a really good deal on an apartment and the only thing holding me back is these posts

Debra I agree with you! I have lived in that building & moved out just because of the damn bugs! I had to throw away so much of my stuff. YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE CRAZY to move into that place! SOOO many tenants have lost so much because the management there does not take the action they need to. Like other people have said, that building really only cares about making money!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS building UNLESS YOU ARE CRAZY. You might as well thow all your clothing out now. I live there right now and regret it more than anything in my life. All of my belongings are garbage now. I cant afford new items or move so I am screwed. There are so many bugs all over my place as well as many other tenats. I hear people talking about every day. Every day the problem gets worse. The only way to fix this problem is to evacuate and fumagate which will never ever happen as t

he property owners just care about filling there own pockets. Do not believe the post made by the Dunfield staff on AUG 24th 09. They are trying to glorify the little effort made on there end.

Hi there, Is there a more recent update on this building? I am interested in seeing a unit on the 20th floor of this building. anything i should be worried about?

I must complement the wonderful staff of 45 Dunfield Ave. They do regular inspections for all pests and safety, bring in the experts, and even take time to move the junk we tennants seem to constantly hoard until we suddenly run out of space and make a mad dash to free ourselves of it. They have never refused to assist me and to ensure others do not pick this stuff up and bring it back into the building eg bedding, couches, etc - they take time to cut slashes on the fabric when placing it out

side in the rubbish.

We do get regular notices, often sent to every apartment at 45 Dunfield. I am most surprized that some living under the same roof as myself have reported otherwise. I have after all been here for only 20 years.

I too had bedbugs and have managed to keep them at bay since being sprayed; however, it is clear that management (the term is used loosely) is not interested in tenant concerns.

They did not inform me of the problem when a nearby apt. was being emptied due to a very serious infestation. (furniture flying past my open window and door).

They do not post a sign, simple enough, saying due to the renewed problem with bed bugs in Toronto, please do not bring in materials that have been thrown

away as they could be infested. Easy enough...they don\'t even have to confess that they have had a problem with bed bugs.

And when reinfestation occurs, they will not let you know approximately where in the building it has occured. Although they claim it is due to privacy, it does not contradict privacy policy to tell that it is in the lower portion of the building on the north side.

If you don't mind bed bugs, it wouldn't be such a bad place to live.... except that they don't repair anything.

I must admit I have lived at alot of apartments in Toronto and this has been the worst. It is infested with Bedbugs. I have had my unit sprayed 7 times in the past 5 months. I had to throw out my mattress, couchs and all of my cloths. This whole building is infested. We tried everything to cover up any holes in the walls and under the doors. They just keep comming back. The building management does nothing at all to help. They only care about making money and watching this 3rd world bud ta

ke over there building. Needless to say I lost of $20,000 in furniture and cloths. I moved out and counted my loses. I would suggest never to move into this building. EVER!!!!!

June 5th . Got notice they will be treating on Monday. I got bit yesterday night and just as I was wondering, the notice came through the door. Had I known I would never have moved in a few months ago. Who needs this aggravation, expense and irritation! I will be doing some serious remedial stuff here like steam cleaning, sealing baseboards, using diatemaceous earth, spraying neem oil, and redoing all my laundry among other things. I have spent a $100 already buying Rubbermaid tubs to seal my cl

othes in. When my lease is up - I am out out out!

Yes, i leave in 45 Dunfield Ave. my apt. was infected in 2006, the management sprayed 2 times. I haven't seen from that time any bygs. I did not know are still in the building. The city can't do anything?

Since September 2006 or even earlier, this building has had a problem with bedbugs. Several units have been affected with the problem still outstanding to this day ( Feb 2008). Building management is aware, however they do not publicize the problem to the tenants so as not to scare people away or to deter newcomers. I personally know several people in the building who have been infested...
