My elderly father is under going radiation treatment and now has to deal with this hideous bed bug problem. He says that he has only noticed it in the past three days(Jan 22-24 2010) and that he has been able to successfully trap them as he sees them. He is on the 4th floor and has kindly asked me to exclude his apartment number from this commentary until I report it to the necessary health authorities and building superintendent. I am confident that we can deal with this situation but am now concerned that this is not an isolated problem but rather a widespread, building wide issue that has been ignored. My concern is not solely for my elderly father, but for all of the seniors in this building on fixed incomes that do not even realize they have this problem or are too embarrassed to bring it up. I am determined to have an inspector from public health conduct an inspection of several units and hold the landlord responsible for treatment and eradication of these pests!!!

I am a 73 year old man who moved into this greenwood Towers in early spring, 2009. In late August, 2009, the bed bug bites on my legs are so bad it looks like I've been eaten alive. They just sprayed my apartment and the units surrounding mine, but how did I get them? I never had them in my life or when I moved in??

I cannot take it anymore. I live at "GREENWOOD TOWERS", 145 Strathmore. Moved in here last year March (2008)...had problems with bedbugs in June for a few months, got rid of them, NOW THEY ARE BACK! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The maintenance staff here are a JOKE!!!! They do NOT care one bit!

This 14 floor seniors' apartment building, run by Toronto Housing, has had an infestation for the last two or three years.
My apartment, #1110 has been treated twice. This has helped, but not solved the problem. I paid $45 for recommended powder and spray, and that has helped - but only if I use them regularly.
Toronto Housing treats each apartment only when the tenant requests it. So there is no floor wide effort to get to the bottom of the problem.
