I have a rampant bed bug problem in my apartment. I reported the problem on March 16th, 2009 to management and I was told they would assess the situation and consider fumigating. I didn't hear anything from them for 2 days, then 3 more days. Finally after another complaint they fumigated the apartment on March 24th.
I have 4 four young children ranging from 3 months to 6 years. They are all traumatized by this experience and we have all suffered f
rom bites, nausea, diarrhea, general weakness, etc. My wife is in terrible shape.
Management has treated us horrendously throughout and they even fumigated the apartment in my presence. We were snickered at and treated like second-class citizens. We were offered no alternative arrangements for the night or while they fumigated.
The problem has been reported to the Health Board in Toronto and the Tenancy Board as well.
I have since moved.
