I determined my apartment was infested in the Summer of 2009. The landlord said they knew the two apartments below mine were infested. The apartment was treated approximately 10 times over the next year. The most helpful thing for me was to caulk all the baseboards in my bedroom. I haven't seen any since then, and suspect after the initial extermination that they were coming from the apartment below.
