I lived in an uninfected apartment. It was confirmed by some that the building had infestations. Mattresses and other furniture were regularly out on the street ( I am not only mentioning about the stuff that gets put out when old apts are being renovated or if someone was evicted ). I even saw a woman drag a VERY used mattress she found on the street INSIDE! It seemed that not everyone was too careful about what they brought in. I'd see the super/maintenance person/whatever with a large co
