One apartment on the third floor in October discovered bed bugs on mattresses and bed frames. Landlord negotiated with tenants for two weeks the terms of hiring a professional. Management was not responsive for 3 days from initial report. Exterminator came in after tenants prepared belongings as instructed. He sprayed poison and tenants had to evacuate premises for a day, which they were not compensated for. Because the apartment is rent stabilized, not much has been done on behalf of the tenant
