On a Saturday in June 09, I woke up with a bed bug bite on my left thumb. Because I'm allergic to bed bug bites, I found that out after staying at an infested hotel years ago, my hand was so swollen that it looked like a loaf of bread. A few days later, more bites on face and neck and there I was at the hospital re-living a nightmare of not being able to breathe and having my face transfigured by all the swelling. I was lucky to catch one of the blood suckers on my pillow as proof of what was biting me. I later found out that another apartment in the building had an infestation in 2008. Landlord has been great complying with Article 4 of Subchapter 2 of the NY Housing Code, which determines that landlords should provide extermination of various pests including bed bugs.
