7/17/2010 - 357 W 45th St - Apt 1RW
Part of my bedroom Ceiling collapsed by the heat pipe about four months ago. Within three weeks, I was being eaten alive... waking up with huge welts all over my body. Complaints to the landlord were went unheeded.
I sealed off the bedroom and slept on the sofa for two month.
The Tenants of 357 W 45th St finally took the Landlord to court in a Group HPD Civil Court Action (HP 6112/10) on 06/08/2010.
By the time HPD forced the Landlord to take S
OME action (They only wanted to use chemicals and I have pets), I had already cleaned, sprayed, powdered, encased mattress and box spring and vaselined the bed legs.
I moved back into my bedroom in mid-July... so far, so good. I get an occasional bite (the bed bug babies are around), but they are few and far between. I know if I keep linens fresh and keep spraying, all will be better.... with the encasements, the bugs can no longer nest in my bed.
Frightened of landlord on 07/11/2009
I live in a row of 4 tenement buildings owned by the same company. There have been repeated bed bug infestations in both 355 and 357 West 45 Street, New York, NY 10036.
The landlords are so bad that there is even a web site devoted to them www.shalomtenants.org and I'm using a friend's email address because I'm frightened of them, but you can contact me there.
