After one night at Candy I had bites all over me. Stayed in room 604 I think. Also never got a refund. Stayed there in november.

They have more bedbugs than residents in 10 years (and the hotel is well visited).
They can even be found in the bathrooms during the day and come crawling down the walls even when the light is on (which bedbugs normally do not do I read online - normally you will not get to see them at all, only notice mosquito like bites).
Longer term residents say the exterminator is there every other week, which is useless as they treat levels separately meaning the bugs can flee to untreated floors.

Stay away from this hotel of hell. I later moved to an allegedly nicer hotel by the same owner and management - Morningside Inn. Also infested - no wonder if they shift complaining guests from one to the other.

"Candy Hostel" 319 94th St

Friday morning: 4 large red welts on right arm, 2 on neck

Read online that some people react this way to bed bugs, some people don't react at all

I am sure these are bed bug welts and am heading to laundry mat to clean/dry clean everything and throw out and buy new luggage.
