I closed on my first home, Unit 1-1 at 14 Riverside St, in late July of 2007. Ten days later, we had to have the entire unit treated for bed bugs. We had no idea they existed and didn't know what the bites were at frist, and actually traveled to my parent's home after the bites began, risking their safety as well. It was traumatizing - I didn't sleep in my own bedroom for 2 weeks after the treatment. Only 5 months later, they were back. I've had the apartment treated TWICE in 5 months. I asked for records from my condo association and found out that since 2005 nearly every unit in the building had been treated for bed bugs. Furthermore, the seller had the unit treated several times in last few years, including AFTER the condo went on the market. We are likely going to sue. Do not buy anything in this complex.
