Three months ago, in March of 2015, I saw a bedbug in my room at the Lawson House. I thought it was a one-time occurrence. Last night I killed seven of the pesky critters. An extermination company sprayed to no avail to date. Management takes slight interest. I am losing sleep and irritable.

Thank God I no longer live at Lawson House YMCA, or even in Chicago. I suffered through bedbug infestations there so much that it felt like I was in hell. Bites on my hands, my feet, and even the top of my head.
Lawson House management stupidly accepted donations of used and FILTHY mattresses the hotels and motels no longer wanted. Once the bugs infested the walls, they were almost impossible to remove.
Their idea of addressing the issue was to periodically pay Anderson Pest Control to squ
irt poison in the corners of rooms (wall outlets, etc.), but the bugs always seemed to return.
Instead of calling Anderson, Lawson House should have called a company that specialized in bedbugs, like the company calling itself Chicago Bedbug Experts. That company uses techniques Anderson NEVER used at Lawson House, including cryonite freezing, high heat steam, and more.

This is a YMCA and it is infested with bedbugs. They are aware of the problem but are doing little of nothing to treat it. They are on every floor of the building.
