Update - as of 9/15/10 I've decided to move out of the house. I had to dump my couch, bed and dresser. On top of all the other expenses I've had (bed bug covers, diatomaceous earth, about 100 loads of laundry, a new vacuum, a steam cleaner) now I have to replace all this furniture. As well as miscellaneous blankets, pet beds, and a lot of other small items I simply just had to toss in the trash.
Bottom line .. I can no longer afford to live like this. And I shudder to think that I will buy a
new bed and then have it get infested too. Moving was really my only option left.

I moved into this house in July of 2010. I started getting bites in the first week after living there but thought nothing of it at first. It's an old house and there were lots of spiders and other creepy crawlies around. It wasn't until my mom came to visit recently and she got bites after sleeping in my bed that I started to put two and two together. Then I found the first bug.
My landlord denies that they were in the house when I moved in and now holds me liable for everything. I am hoping
that the first round of extermination that I've paid for will work because I don't know how long I will be able to afford it.
I'm still in the process of washing all of my belongings. Everything else is outside in black plastic bags. I feel like all I do all day now is obsess over bed bugs and how to get rid of them. I feel for everyone out there who's had to go through this. It's just awful. I'm so tired.. I can't wait for a restful night's sleep again someday!
