June 17th, 2011.

Discovered a major bedbug infestation. Took apart everything in room, cleaned and treated for bugs, washed all bedding and sheets with very hot water and dry at high temp for 1/2 hour. Soaked bed cover in cedar oil. Washed room floor with tea tree oil soap.

We got most of them, but still see a few every day and check all bedding before we go to sleep.

the building management has sent an exterminator and we also called one, to get an idea of what it will take to get rid

of them. Since the building is lofts (8 floors) we don't know where they came from, and suspect a almost new bed placed in the building trash was the main/initial source.

They are also coming out of the wall electrical sockets (they all have minor gaps between the plastic cover and the wall).

We are considering abandoning everything due to the fact that the loft has unfinished concrete walls, and will take a minimum of 3 treatments over 6 weeks to do it, each one requires all clothing and bedding to be rewashed for eggs and placed into sealed plastic bags to prevent re-infestation IF they don't come back through a neighbors place...
