I experienced this problem recently (in Vancouver, too) and it was a nightmare. You should DEFINITELY tell your landlord. They are responsible for helping out with this. They should order professionals to come in to spray your place. In the mean time, you should do your best to thoroughly vacuum every crack or crevice in your place (especially around your bed). Wash your sheets and clothes in hot water. Check your pillow. It's not fun, but you need to take those steps. At least you have your cat to keep you company.. :)

Every morning I always find out red spots on my skin without knowing where they coming from. I have been curious for a few month. Indeed, I thought it is because of my cats' fleas. But it is not because I tried to spray my cats many times and it still happens. And one day I decided to move my bed away from the wall , may be something is living underneath my bed. After I moved it , I saw black bugs and I sprayed and wiped them away and I saw blood coming out from their bodies. I was thinking how bugs have red blood like human so I finally realized that they are the one cause red spot on my skin. I am so scared to sleep in my own bed now and I am afriad my cats and me will have some infected disease from that bugs. So now I have to sleep on the floor instead. I am afraid to go to my ownroom. It seems something is waiting for you to suck your blood. I don't know what to do. How can I fix this problem. If I tell my landlord , will she fix this problem for me ? Or I have to get rid of this monster bugs by myself? I am scared to live there:)
