Grossed Out on 03/18/2013
Stayed with fellow runners here for a running race weekend (March 15 & 16). Like others have said the place isn't the cleanest. Our other favorite hotels were booked and we went with this place. We went to bed the first night and in the morning while getting ready to leave for our race I found a bed bug crawling on the headboard. My friend killed the bug and there was a lot of blood from it. We told the front desk and they reacted fast. Someone reported to our room and confirmed it was a b
ed bug. They took our things that were in the room to be washed and dried. We were moved to another room on a much higher floor. This second room also didn't seem very clean. Came to find out that the floor we stayed on had been closed for a year because of a bed bug problem and was just reopened. Never staying here again and really hoping nothing came home with us.
Place is disgusting. Had to stay here for a conference. I checked the bed, but should have checked behind the bed frame. Woke up after restless night and left. On way home, noticed welts on my neck and wrist and also my back. Went to doctor and he comfirmed it was bed bug bites. Plan on filing a complaint with the Health Department.

I was visting my son in Virginia Beach on April 21, 2012 and stayed at Comfort Inn, Atlantic Ave. My day went well. That night I was awakened by a itchy neck. I tried to fall a sleep, but the itching became intense. I asked my friend if there was something on my neck. He says, it looks like three mosqutio bites. I then turned and looked at my pillow to find a tiny brownish red looking bug. I then tried to fall a sleep again to be awakened by itching on my arm. Morning came and I had huge mosguti
o looking bites on my neck and arm. I told my friend, I think there bed bug bites! After researching online and seeing pictures, I'm sure that's what they are.
My biggest regret is that I didnt go to the front office with the bug and show them my bites that night.
We attempted to stay here on 10/07/2011, for the weekend for the Columbus Day Soccer tournament at Virginia beach. On entering the hotel, my wife was already getting bad vibes, because the place did look very clean. My son and I still called her snooty and were giving her a hard time. Anyway, we left our bags in the room, and went for dinner. On our return, my wife and i decided to go for a walk, and my 16 year old son decided to chill in the room, which by the way did not look that clean. Anywa
y, 10 mins into our walk he calls and says that the bed he was lying on was crawling with bugs. We checked it out, even captured one in a bottle to show to the receptionist, and immediately checked out and found another hotel at least 10 miles away. Stuffed all his clothing into the laundry, and actually threw his bag into the dumpster. Thankfully none of us were bitten, but were still very creepd-out by the whole experience.
