WE WERE HERE ON JULY 1ST, 2012 IN ROOM 309. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED. THIS PLACE HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. THERE WAS TWO DOUBLE BEDS AND WHILE WE SLEPT IN ONE, I STARTED ITCHING AROUND MY NECK AND SHOULDERS, WOKE UP TO SEE TWO HUGE RED WELTS FORMING. SO I JUMPED TO THE OTHER BED THINKING IT WOULD BE OKAY SINCE I WAS SO SLEEPY. LORD BEHOLD, I RECEIVED SEVERAL MORE ALL OVER MY UPPER BODY AND SO DID MY FIANCE. HE WAS COVERED IN IT FROM HEAD TO TOE! WE HAD TO WAKE U
P AT 3AM TO COMPLAIN AT THE FRONT DESK TO NO AVAIL. HE REFERRED US TO CALL THE MANAGER THE NEXT DAY. WE ENDED UP LEAVING TO GO ANOTHER HOTEL AFTER THAT. I REFUSE TO EVER STEP INTO THIS GOD AWEFUL PLACE. DO NOT EVER GO THERE!

We had tried to stay here 6/9/2012 in a room on the third floor. There is a window with a cushioned bench attached to it and it had bedbugs craling all over the cushion and behind the curtains. We went down to the front desk to get our money back and the woman at the front desk seemed very surprised we had found anything. She offered us a room an the first floor, when we went in to look it over it had the same issue with the bugs in the window sill. I showed the woman all the bugs and she tried
to say they looked like ants. They were not ants! We got our money back and stayed next door at the Hampton, the man at the front desk there said he gets 2-3 people a week coming over from the Microtel due to their infestation. There is a reason this hotel is 200 hundred dollars cheaper than the others around it. The extra money is worth it when you think of how much it costs to remove bedbugs from your home if you happen to bring them with you.

Encounter occurred week of July 15, 2011. I was put into Room 312 and within a few minutes of walking into the room, was bitten several times. Luckily, I was doing a bed bug check and did not unpack or get any bed bugs. The hotel mgmt was extremely kind, wrapped my belongings in plastic to kill any that took a ride on my wheel bag and gave my money back. The mattresses were encased with a good cover but the bugs were seen on the wooden base (not really a box spring, but a base). I personally wou
ld not ever attempt to stay at this hotel again; however, it was nice that management didn't make me pay for the room.
After I left the hotel, I checked this website and saw that another report has been filed for Room 312. My son's hockey team stayed here last March and no one got bed bugs (they were on the 1st floor) so maybe it's only Room 312.

My friend and I decided to take a vacation in Philadelphia, PA and since we were on a low budget and wanted a decent hotel we decided to go with Microtel. We were excited because they upgraded us to a nicer room. Just before we were going to go to sleep my friend spots a bug on the bed and after I jumped up we noticed there was not just one there must have been about 15 black bugs all over the bed! Being that I had an experience with bed bugs before and did not want to take these creatures of de
struction back with me, my friend an I stayed up all night putting all our belongings in plastic bags and throwing away anything not machine washable. Suffice to say this "vacation" was a nightmare and I would not stay in this hotel again if someone paid me! It is INFESTED with bed bugs!

Oct 27, 2010. Checked in every other hotel at the airport was booked. Shuttle took forever, and they gave excuses. I didnt care any more than you do. Then the front desk was, well not customer service oriented. Whatever I thought as my grandmother always said. Off to my room. The room is.... um DIRTY. I know, I know clean people have bedbugs too..... The lead up is for anyone who is still considering staying there. I travel for a living and do not intend to bring bedbugs or anything else for tha
t matter home with me.
(oh home, what a sanitary retreat) Anyhow in my inspection I see these black spots. They look a bit like ink. I am pretty sure it is bed bug feces stains. I decided that I don't want to judge too soon. So I look a bit more. In the seam of the box springs I saw a bunch more black spots. Now hot on the trail.... I see hiding under the edging of the box spring the actual bed bugs. One, then another, then another. Truthfully one is enough. I work in science. I get that there is no diseases passed via these little buggers.(that we know of) I also know that it is moved from place to place via people who travel such as myself. Well not if I can help it. I left the room for the front desk. Clerk A seemed confused, or like "so what do you want me to do about it attitude" Clerk B wanted to move me outside. Sorry no thanks rather sleep on a park bench! Finally they requested me to sign the sheet for the return of authorized funds from my credit card. (think they thought I might get loud as other guests were around) The clerk asked me to right that I would not disclose that they had this problem, so he could explain to his manager why he refunded me. I signed my name, to the bill but did not wright anything about not speaking. FREE SPEACH BABY, I am not signing my rights away. Just wrote BED BUGS. Then the clerk had me show him. This is my second sighting. So maybe bed bugs dont care if the hotel is clean or not. I have to tell you I pay attention. The hotels that are clean (look under the bed and watch how they handle linen) seem to be watching for these problems. I dont think the bugs care if your clean or not, I do think that clean hotels care weather or not they have bed bugs! Well 34 bucks in a cab, and double the price hotel room downtown totally worth it. (Clerk told me they do screenings as hotel policy and some city program) I checked that room too. No signs there!
OH WELL on 09/19/2010
Stayed there from 9/9/2010 thru 9/13/2010, since then I have cluster bite marks on both arms, both legs, and back. Never experienced this before, and thought I must have been exposed to mosquito bites. after applying witch hazel, and several topical creams for itching, I still had the cluster marks and intense itching. This morning, 9/19/2010 the thought occurred that these might be bed bug bites, so I went online to check the symptoms. Low and behold, there it was! I had been bitten buy bed bug
s. I will never ever stay at this hotel again, even if it was for free. I wish there someway to sue the owners for my discomfort.

Stayed at this hotel for four days in the same room and didn't notice a problem until I was packing up on the last day and saw one bedbug crawling across the pillow that I had just slept on. I have at least three small, red, itchy bumps on my left leg.

We stayed at this hotel approximately 9 times from 2007-2009. Since we had had bed bug problems ourselves originating from my son being in a juvenille detention center we always ask if there was ever a problem at every place we stay. We were told each time that they never had a problem. Each time we stayed we always checked the mattresses. Too date we never had a problem, but since two others reported they did, I don't know if the rooms we stayed in weren't infested or if they have taken car
e of the problem. Either way I think I will think twice before staying here again.

Microtel Inn, Philadelphia Airport
March 8, 2010, Room 312
I have stayed at this hotel many times before, but this latest stay has been a nightmare. I should have just left when I started scratching uncontrollably, but my patience was rewarded with 100 of bites and welts all over my legs, chest, arms and face.
I don't know if this hotel is infested, but I recommend staying away from room 312, and will no longer be staying at this conveniently located hotel.

After traveling 12 hours I arrived @3am, went straight to bed. Placed a "do not disturb sign on the door, and was rudely awaken by a pounding on the door. Another patron had thought she left some items in the room. She told me she was appalled they put another person in this room, as she had left it because there were ticks or bugs in the bed. After she left, I turned on all the lights and pulled down all the bedding and shook out the pillows, and there they were! They were bed bugs! I immediate
ly got dressed, closed up my luggage and left the room as fast as I could! I was totally disgusted that I had slept in that bed not knowing! And even more disgusted that the Hotel would put me in that room knowng there was a problem! I will never stay in a Microtel again and neither should you!
