Hatesbugs on 07/08/2014
We checked in for one night on July 5, 2014. At about 1:15 AM, I woke up with my right arm itching. Upon turning on the lights and pulling back the covers, we discovered at least 8 bedbugs with fresh blood - mine. The night manager was called and after consulting with another manager who was off-duty, moved us to another room. The new room appeared to be bedbug-free after checking under covers and pulling back to expose the mattress. We placed all our belongings in the bathroom on the tile floor
. The next morning we were assured that this has never occurred before and that they would be taking aggressive corrective action to both rooms we were in plus several rooms surrounding the original room for all three stories of the hotel. I had an allergic reaction to the bites and went to an ER for treatment. We have been in contact with both the manager and the general manager of this hotel. We have been assured by them that our out-of-pocket medical expenses will be reimbursed plus the points we used will be re-instated to our account with some more points for additional compensation. As this is still so recent, it has not been entirely resolved. It is my opinion that a prior traveler had brought them in (they don't just appear out of thin air) and either wasn't aware of them or was too embarrassed to report it. Reporting a problem like this so that the management can contain it is critical. This can happen in any hotel, 5 star hotels, as well, so if you encounter such a problem, tell the management!

Hours after checking out of this hotel, I found 3 bites on my neck. After the long drive, I decided to not bring my luggage in the house. The next day, I checked my luggage, and found a bed bug in one of the luggage compartments.
I'll bet any money, I got the bed bugs from the hotel. I threw all of my luggage out.
