Was bitten in the beginning of January 2014. Woke up itchy with tiny blood stains on bed. Had my young child sleep in a stroller after becoming itchy around midnight to avoid bites. Husband and I both had bites on arms, wrists, back, etc upon waking up. Small ones. Have been bitten before and believe hotel may be actively fighting the problem, egg cases may be left behind and have hatched. Was displeased with the hotel's cleanliness; found someone's package of opened meat left behind in the stoc

ked refrigerator. Discovered this meat was NOT on the menu. Maid service who kept asking when we were leaving also clearly not interested in doing their jobs.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night. Before we went out to dinner I was standing outside bathroom and was bit on the wrist. I did not see what bit me but it swelled up, turned red starting burning. I didnt think much of it even with the constant itching. We came back to room and went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning a had 4 bug bites on my left leg above my ankle. Again extremely swollen, red, itchy and burning. I reported it to the hotel and they have yet to do anything about

my problem. My leg was swollen for over a month. We never found what bit me. I would not recommend the hotel and the staff was not helpful at all.

We stayed at the New York Palace Hotel for 2 nights in mid-April 2013. When we came home, we began getting bites three days later. We are currently living through the process of having our home treated for the resulting infestation. The hotel has been less than sterling in their response to our complaint of bed bugs. We have been in contact with them directly.

We stayed here from Augusy 3-7/11, and we had a great stay! NO BED BUGS. We checked our beds every night and kept everything off the floor. Excellent stay, clean hotel, and great staff. I would stay here again.

My 18 year old daughter and I stayed here after searching for an upscale hotel with a clean report. We chose the NY Palace and there were NO bedbugs! Coming from out of state, we were very aware of the bedbug problems in NYC and took great care in researching before we booked reservations. The room was awesome, very clean and we did check very carefully each night just to be sure! I would highly recommend the New York Palace for it's cleanliness, service and location. Our trip was October 2

010 for 5 nights. I would highly recommended this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
(by the way, the concierge service was outstanding! The entire staff made us feel special!)

If anyone has been bitten by bedbugs in this wonderful hotel they have been truly unlucky. Our family and friends stayed at The New York Palace and did not have one incident involving bed bugs or bites of any kind. We occupied 50 rooms in total and everyone had the most incredible stay.

I wish The New York Palace well and hope they take the bedbug reports very, very seriously as we would love to stay with them again during our future visits to New York.

Stayed in the NY Palace last week 28 march to 31st March
Came down in morning and a colleague told me my neck was bleeding with a welt on it. I had blood all over my shirt. Figured it was just a pimple. My wife unpacked my clothes from the sealed suitcase today and got bitten 3 times.
The problem is endemic to NYC at the moment
You can't blame the hotel
Clearly DDT is going to seem a good idea again soon.

I too suffered BED BUG( or Something )Bites while staying at the Palace Hotel. I too was treated poorly by management. I too will never again stay in this hotel. I too was traumatized by the experience and management. It is sad that there is this problem and even sadder that our trust in what is considered a 5 star hotel has been violated. Take some responsibility. The Palace protests too loudly and too much... Your first and only consideration is suppose to be the well being of the Patron... tr

ust all of us,it won't hurt you to refund a patron's room charge. Especially when anyone can see bites on their body,i.e.,arms

My family and I (8 of us)stayed at the New York Palace for 5 nights over Christmas 2009 (December 22-27, 2009). Nary a sight of a bedbug at any time during our tenancy in three rooms. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.

I just found this website as I was researching for a trip to Montreal, Canada. I would like to say that my daughter and I stayed at this hotel in NYC for 2 nights in June 2010. We are both very sensitive to bedbugs and mites and we had no trouble with either in this hotel. I'm sorry that some folks have had problems with this hotel because it was a wonderful experience for us that we look forward to repeating in the future.

I had to work in New York and I already had reservations at the New York Palace Hotel when I found this helpful web site. After reading the helpful reports on this web site, I decided to take the following steps to prevent the possibility of any bed bug bites. I purchased a clear shower curtain at the 99Cent Store (so I could clearly see if there were any bed bugs), and I purchased cheap throwaway sheets & a throw away blanket. I laid the shower curtain on the bed, put the sheets & blanket on

top of the shower curtain and slept on the bed without ever touching the hotel bedding. In addition, I purchased two plastic table clothes for my luggage & shoes. I did not want to put my clothes in the dresser drawers so I laid the tablecloth on the floor, put the wooden luggage rack on top the tablecloth and put my suitcase & shoes on top of the luggage rack. (I kept all of my clothes in the luggage.) None of my personal items ever touched the floor. I know this is an extreme response to the bed bug issue but I have heard the cost to eradicate the pests from your home can run $20K so I decided it was worth the $5 I spent at the 99-cent Store. I never received one bug bite during my entire stay. At the end of my stay, I threw all of the items in the trash. I love New York but did not want to be bitten or take home bed bugs as souvenirs.

NYC PALACE HAS BED BUGS!!! I GOT THEM TOO digusting and horrible experience. They were so rude about the situation and helpful. NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL, yuck!!

Anonymous, based on your comments and the dates of your stay, the hotel believes that you are the guest with whom we have had several telephone conversations the week of September 6, 2010. As you know, after last week's report, we arranged for an immediate and in-depth inspection of your guest room by an independent professional pest control specialist. As we indicated in one telephone conversation, the report from the inspection of your room indicated that there were no bed bugs in the ro

om during your stay, and we offered to share that independent report with you. We take your allegations very seriously, and the report remains available for you to examine at any time.

The New York Palace is committed to preventing guestroom pests of all kinds, and protecting the safety our guests. As part of this commitment, we conduct frequent and systematic inspections to maintain surgical cleanliness in our guest accommodations. Our robust, multi-tiered pest prevention program uses expert outside inspectors to validate the hotel's constant inspection process.

We appreciate the time you took to contact us with your concerns.

I stayed at the NYC palace for 3 nights and began seeing little red bumps that look like mosquito bites on my body. They progressively got worse throughout the three nights. Thinking that this was a 5 star hotel, I assumed that it would not be bed bugs. However, when i got home, I realized that there was a bug in my bed. I had an exterminator come to my apt, and he told me that there were bed bugs in my bed and that the bites were bed bug bites all over my body. I thew out my 1000 dollar mat

tress, all of my bedding, my suitcase, clothes, drycleaned everything, i had to FUMIGATE my apt to get rid of the bugs. Not only was this the worst hotel experience of my life, but the management ADAMANTLY denied that i got the bed bugs from there, despite that being the only place i went all weekend. I did not shop anywhere, all i did was stay at there hotel. They were the nastiest, most unhelpful management i have ever seen. They did not try and refund me on the hotel room, or help pay for the thousands of dollars of expenses from this nightmare. I HIGHLY recommend NEVER to stay at this hotel, or you will PAY to get BED BUGS. I have stayed at many 5 star hotels, and this is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. They could care less the emotional distress, physical distress, psychological distress, and financial distress they have caused me. Please boycott this hotel, there are many other beautiful 5 star hotels in NYC that would at least attempt to mend that type of situation. THE NYC PALACE IS A SERIOUS DISGRACE.

Visiting New york with my family and woke up with my finger bleeding. It appeared to be a bite similar to spider or bed bug? It became so swollen and itcy as the day wore on. I later saw more bite marks (red swollen marks) that look like welts! They are on my neck ;three large welts. As well as on my back in 2 different areas. The bites have become more swollen and horribly itchy over the course of a a week. HORRIBLE!!! I spoke with the manager, at the time I only realized the one bite. H

e changed our room but was arrogant in his disinterest. I showed him my bledding finger. He did not deny bed bugs. He would not confirm bed bugs either, very evasive. NO LONGER WILL STAY AT THE NEW YORK PALACE HOTEL!
Just awful, the bites are so painful due to intense itchiness!
