July 21-24, 2015 #9-112. Put luggage on rack and clothing in drawers and hung in closet. First morning woke up with intense itching but didn't realize it was from bites. Upon inspection in the mirror I could see 3 bites on my right side - the side I slept on. They exacerbated into welts by the time I arrived home. After many phone transfers I wrote a letter to MGM Grand and received a letter claiming no responsibility and no other reports in that room or from anyone else regarding reports of be

dbugs. WOW - there seem to be many on this site now!!! Currently in the process of throwing everything out and calling an exterminator. No bites before I left for Vegas, many bites after returning from Vegas. What happens in Vegas DOESN'T stay in Vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at the MGM Grande Oct 6-11, 2015. I was in Grande 17 128 I started itching on my lower back when I left and when I got home found 3 huge bites on my lower back and then one on my arm. I was shocked! A five star hotel with bed bugs? I threw all of my suitcases and clothes outside and proceeded to wash and freeze and throw out clothing and items. The one on my arm is swelling up so I am thinking I am allergic to the bite. Unbelievable. They will be hearing from me. What kind of place is th

is?????

Stayed at the MGM SIGNATURE rooms 17-615 and 17-617 with family and friends from 9/20/15 - 9/23/2014 and was attacked by a whole lot of bed bugs all the body. I have yet to hear from the hotel's insurance company regarding the incident.I wonder when Mayweather stays does he have that problem..I'm sure he don't....

Housekeeping gave me a fresh sheet for my bed and after I spread it out on the bed I found a live bedbug in it.

I am staying at the Mgm 4 nights in june and in room16-104 and after 2 days I have already 5 bite marks on my inner thigh I had my suitcase open right next to my bed and hurried and moved it to the side after I read all of these comments and I pray that I don't have bed bugs or bring some home

May 1 too May 5th 2015

I happened to notice several bugs on the bed, to my surprise they were bed bugs. We had just arrived so luckily i did not get bit. I trapped the bed bug in a bag and we called management. A hotel employee came to the door saw the bag and denied that it was a bed bug. I asked for them to move us to a different room which they did. We ended up staying in the 2nd room with no problems. I would expect that an expensive hotel did not encounter such issues. Our trip was in Sept 2014. Beware if you sta

y here!

While staying at MGM Grand in room 21-209, in the Grand Tower, the first room had feces on the carpet and on both bed sheets.

In the second room, 21-231, we found evidence of bed bug scat on one of the beds!

This place is horrible. Their Corporate does not respond and as you can see from this list of complaints, does nothing about the problem.
Avoid all of the MGM Resorts, which include ARIA, LUXOR, EXCALIBUR, NYNY, MGM GRAND, VDARA, CIRCUS CIRCUS and many others

October 3 to 5th. Dont stay at the MGM they are dishonest. Now we brought bed bugs home and spending hundreds getting rid of them fumigating our house. We both took them to the office and now have to work from home. Cannot go back to work until we get a doctors note. The first night room 26114 my wife got many bites that swelled up the next day. I should of taken better action now that we have gone through the bed bugs. The next night I got bit and didn't think much about it. I thought it might

of been bed bugs. Now the MGM does a report that says no bugs. Somehow the bed bugs only bit us? I am sure the hotel has a way to cover their ass so they have no liability. It's called the mafia. I would like to get in contact with any people that stayed in the room before and after us. Don't ever be naive about bed bugs. I wish I would of not brought our luggage into the house. If you get bed bugs you need to act like you were exposed to Ebola.

Stayed at MGM Grand and left with bed bug bites all over my legs & stomach. What a nightmare, stay somewhere else! Don't make the mistake I made in choosing the MGM Grand.

I had the worst hotel experience of my career at MGM Grand in February of this 2013! I woke up 2 mornings in a row with what I thought was an allergic reaction or rash. What I realized was the red spots were getting larger and a doctor confirmed that the spots were in fact bed bug bites. I had bites all over my back, legs, hands, neck and cheek. I had an allergic reaction to the bites and they got to be the size of a quarter each! MGM denied my claim and said they found no bugs in our room.

They moved us to another room but I could not sleep the rest of the stay. The front desk manager was rude and would not do anything for me.

I had to go to the doctor twice for steroids and anti-itch creme. The hotel paid for nothing except one front desk attendant felt sorry for me and said all he could do was take $100 off for room service.

I just stayed at the MGM Grand on May 24th for one night. On initial inspection everything appeared to be clean so I didn't concern myself with it. Yesterday I noticed what appeared to be 4 mosquito bites on my right side...the side I slept on while at the MGM. They have now become large welts that can be typical of some bed bug bites. Fortunately the itching isn't bad, it comes and goes, but I'm not a happy camper. My room was on the 22nd floor.

Stayed for a week in March 2013 on 28th floor.
Did not see any bed bugs and did not receive any bites.
Upon arrival I searched the mattresses, box springs, headboards, nightstand, desk, upholstered chairs, electrical outlets, baseboard and even tried to look behind artwork that is attached to the wall. (yes, I'm a little paranoid.) Did not see one bug or even one sign (poop spot) of a bug.

There were, however, 2-legged creatures that came home drunk at night and had loud parties in the hall

way.
Oh well, it's Vegas. It was a nice room and we had fun.

3/6/13
Rooms in Skyloft - super clean, crisp sheets, bathrooms very clean. Carpets like new. Would definitely return.

Did not encounter any bed bugs. We were at the MGM Grand from 1/25/2013 to 1/28/2013 in a room on the 28th floor. It was a nice, clean room with NO bed bugs.

Stayed at MGM Grand October 7-10, 2011. No sign of bedbugs or any other pests whatsoever.

My family stayed at the MGM March 12 to March 16, 2012. I did not have any issues with my room, but my brother said he had red bumps that looked like bites. His room was 13-108. I noticed the most recent report also had a room on the 13th floor.

I stayed at the MGM Jan 16-20th in room 13-220. I developed a red rash over the course of the first few days but did not connect it with bed bug bites. The last night I was there was the worst - it felt like I was being bitten by hundreds of bed bugs while I was in bed. I went to the front desk to report the problem and the staff moved me to another newly renovated room. The staff said I needed to report the incident to risk management but overall they seemed not at all concerned with my experie

nce.

This place is infested with bed bugs. I received over 30 bites while staying 2nd week of Nov. This place is a dump. Stay away. I had to throw away my luggage, clothes wasted time and money cleaning all my things and MGM refused to comp me for any of it even after I produced a doctors note and numerous pictures of the bites. What a mess, I am still scarred all over my legs over a month later.

I promised to report back so here I am. I arrived on Friday, September 23, 2011, as planned. I stayed in room 20-429. I don't know what section of the hotel that is, but it is accessible from the closest elevators to the front desk. Yes. The MGM Grand is old. There were some stains on the curtains, stains on the rug, stains on the chair, but they weren't fresh. They were old. However, old does not mean dirty! It was CLEAN! There was NOT an ounce of dust or dirt anywhere that I could f

ind, not even a bedbug. I checked my bed thoroughly, headboard, walls, rug, etc, etc, etc. (By the way, every room in the hotel has brand new beds.) If there are bedbugs in this hotel they were NOT in my room anywhere. I arrived home last night and I am just as I was when I left....no bites! I was told by the front desk that they are starting to redo all their rooms starting October 1. It will take a year to finish. I would stay here again, even before they redo their rooms, even if I have to pay for it.

I will be arriving in Vegas tomorrow to stay at the MGM Grand. A friend of mine won tickets to the IHeart Radio Concert, our airfare from NY and our stay at the MGM Grand....a trip most people would not want to refuse. After reading all these conflicting comments I'm very apprehensive, but I am going. I know how to check for bedbugs and have been doing it at every hotel I've stayed at in the past year or so. I will definitely come back to this site and post my experience. Keeping my fingers

crossed that there are no bedbugs here.

i stayed at mgm second week of June 2011 on third floor room and did not have any problems with bed bugs, but i do advise(I do this) to always bring garbage bags in your luggage and put the luggage and your purse in the garbage bag when you are in your room and put in on a luggage rack and put that rack in the bathroom. then everytime you need to get into your luggage put it in a new garbage bag afterwards. it is well worth the planning and exepnse of a box of trash bags then to bring bugs home

and pay thousands to get rid of them. and if you do have bed bugs in your room, throw your suitcase away after you get home, don't take it inside. put your clothes out of the suitcase in a garbage bag, then throw them right away in the washer, and throw the suitcase away no matter how much the suitcase cost you. its still less expensive than having an infestation. follow this advice wheever you stay at a hotel.

i checked into the mgm grand yesterday, 8/22/10, into room 4-308 (4th floor) and did a check as soon as i got into the room. while the mattresses/covers and box springs were spotless, i quickly checked the carpeting along the bed, nightstand and walls... it was there that i found a dead bed bug.

i notified the front desk and they were very courteous and i was given a new room on the 26th floor with a better view, 26-136. the employee (i can't remember her name, but she had an eastern europea

n accent), told me that she was shocked to find one in my room and that they had only had one confirmed case. i assumed they checked my new room before giving it to me, but thought i should still give it a quick check and left my luggage in the bathroom. as soon as walked up to the beds (2 queens), i saw another bedbug between the left bed and the nightstand. this one, however, was alive and scurried into the nightstand when i shined my iphone light on it! i should note that the mattress and box spring also appeared to be clean in this room as well.

i was then given a third room, to which the main entry light barely worked and none of the other lights were plugged in. i couldn't even check for more bugs because the room was so dark and the hotel clearly had an infestation since i was finding bed bugs 22 floors apart. i canceled my room and stayed at another hotel. the other employees at the front desk were really nice about the whole thing and reversed all of the charges to my card. in regards to the first employee i spoke to, this was obviously not an isolated incident and am irritated that her shock and concern came across as sincere.

i did a thorough check of my luggage which i had placed on a rack and in the bathroom in the rooms and am crossing my fingers that i do not have any stowaways.

We stayed at MGM Grand May 17-26th. I broke out in a rash the second day I was there, hives, very itchy and uncomfortable. We stayed in 7-417. The rug hadn't been cleaned in ages, the tile in the bathroom was chipped. The 8 days we were there, the linens were never changed once!!! It was only on my arrival home to Canada that someone suggested bed bugs and that the MGM had a problem with them that they were refusing to acknowledge. I would NEVER stay in that hotel again & would never have boo

ked there had I known this was a problem. Between the staff's lack of service & "I'll be with you in a moment attitude" to the run-down facilities, it is definitely not a a 4 out of 5 star hotel as advertised on most travel sites. I have stayed in Holiday Inns that offer cleaner facilities and better service. My recommendation to all my friends--avoid the MGM Grand Las Vegas unless you like the bed bug plague!!!

I stayed at MGM GRAND from June 12th -june 14th, 2011 and did not have any bed bugs. I worry a lot about these bugs, so when i got to the room i pulled all of the sheets and pillows off of the bed, checked the bed, matress, picture frames, nightstand, etc. then i called housekeeping and asked for all new sheets and comforter. that way i got freshly washed sheets. i did this, they had no problem bringing this to me. they remade my bed for me and i did not have any problems. I also made sure to

keep my suitcase off of the bed or floor and used the suitcase holder. i kept my purse in the bathroom on the counter. When i got home i immediately washed all of my clothes. I think if you do these things when you go to a hotel then you should be fine. Just be vigilant and ask for new sheets when you arrive.

I am a bed bug expert because i had them in 2007 and it took 4 months and lots of money to get rid of them and i have to say that BB's posting sounds weird. first of all you say it took 4-5 weeks but that you stayed there on May 11,2011. its not even June 11th yet. second, you dont just find bed bugs, you get bit first.they are very good at hiding. you would have been bit if you had a family of bed bugs in your home. I do hope that you did not get bed bugs at MGM because it worries me because

its my favorite hotel in Vegas. so i hope that u got them another way, it sounds like it because they would have bit you at hotel and at your home, are u sure this is bed bugs? and as far as people saying the West wind has it, that upsets me too because this is where i stay when i go there.

Yes, there are bed bugs at the MGM Grand! West wing rooms; 4th floor room 527! Our stay of 9 days turned nightmarish after I broke out into a case of hives and a rash. Thinking it was either sun rash or a reaction to food, I never put 2 and 2 together until I got home and was treated by Dr for a systemic reaction to the bites.

Once home, it finally occurred to check on bed bugs as a possibility, and I was a classic case. It took 3 calls to MGM to reach security and "risk management". After

being given a case #, the room was investigated, lo and behold it turned into a negative report! I had pics to send showing bites and rash! Nope they didn't need that.

Stay away from the MGM Grand! It took me weeks to sleep comfortably again... My 1st trip to Vegas just might be my last!

I stayed at this hotel on 4/17/11, in a west wing king room. I was told that this wing is typically closed year round but was recently re-opened. I found bed bug excrement on the sheets and moths in the bathroom. The management changed my room immediately but minimized my concerns. After completing the customer satisfaction survey they sent me an automated response. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at the MGM Grand in February 2011. We stayed in Tower 4. I knew about bed bugs but never expected to encounter them there. I left my suitcase open and transferred it between the bed and the floor. Did not notice anything in the room, but wasn't looking for anything either. Who thinks to look for bugs at the MGM Grand right?

Upon returning home and about 4 to 5 weeks later I began spring cleaning and relocating the bedroom furniture and got a shocking surprise. I found a family of bed b

ugs hanging out in my mattress and headbord. While I have been told I caught it early and am getting my home treated, it has been a very costly and unnerving experience. I had to dispose of my bed, wash/dry all clothes and place in sealproofed plastic bags, dry clean all coats, curtains and other clothing that cannot be dried.

While I am told that beg bugs do not carry disease, how can that be since they are a blood sucker like ticks and go from place to place.....

I have spent almost close to $2,500 with cost of replacing mattress and box springs, sofa and chair, and with additional costs for dry cleaning/laundry charges and storage bags......and this does not even cover the exterminitor charges and oh yes, taking the time off of work to tend to these matters.

My fun in the sun turned into a bed bug nightmare.

I find it odd that 2 people got on to report that MGM did not have bugs during their stay when this website is supposed to Only be for if you do have bugs. Funny they are posted after 2 reports of bugs. Last time i stayed at MGM was summer of 2010 and no problems with any bugs, but really this page is supposed to be for when there is a problem. Thanks

Stayed at the MGM Oct 30 - Nov 3. Hotel was clean, room was clean, no bugs I could see (and I checked). We had eight people in our party and no one reported any bites.
P.S. All the hotels in Vegas seem to have a very over-perfumed smell. I'm pretty sure it's to try and mask all the cigarette smoke.

I stayed at the MGM Grand Oct 14th through 18th, 2010 and didnt experience any bed bugs. I went through and inspected the bed and dresser and did not find anything. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the main tower, MGM Grand, October 21-24. I noticed small bites and itching on day two. By the end of the stay, I had several bites on my legs that itched significantly. The bites and itching lingered for about 10 days. I have never experienced this before. I did not see any bugs, just felt their effects.

found live bed bug today in room 4215. The staff responded immediately, but this hotel is, frankly, a dump. The room appeared to be clean, but after closer inspection, the carpet is dirty, and the hotel sports a perfume-like smell. They took my clothes for cleaning and reassigned me to a newly renovated room...we'll see.
