This is motel has an infestation and needs to take care of it. We stayed there this past weekend and left saturday without even checking out. We woke up in the middle of the night to find about 25 bed bugs crawling around the box spring and then also found some on the floor by the night stand. When my boyfriend put a flashlight to a hole in the box spring he said it was horrible! So, we took our suitcase, luckily we only had one, threw our clothes and luggage in the dumpster and headed back

home. When we first found them we went down to the desk but it was dark, so then we looked on this site and found that others (just recently) had found them and had a difficult time with getting a refund, so we decided to just get the hell out and never come back. I would recommend the same until they settle this issue and stop putting the blame on the people paying their bills!

I will never stay at the Royal Canadian. We checked in on Sunday around 230 the room was ready. When we walked into the room it was very dark and dirty. I rewashed all of the dishes and wiped the counters. At 3am my 11way week old son woke up crying so I huried up and turned on the tv to get some light in the room and sat back on the bed to nurse him. I turned and noticed a bug crawling up the curtain, I woke my boyfriend and he squished it. While he went onto google I pulled another

piece of curtain back and saw a family crawling back to bed. He killed 7 more total and he headed down to the front desk. The lady moved us to another room without anything at all. I checked the curtains and found a corpse of one, that was enough! We started calling hotels at 330am, everyone was booked. (After I thought about it I would say I was booked also, if you get a call in the early a.m. asking for a room that should be a sign, its a bedbug call.) So now I am standing in a empty room holding my son waiting for my belongings to get washed and my other things freezed. We finally found a room at Cape Cod inn. Finally at 1pm we had our things back, the owner did give us a full refund, but after all of that we lost
another day of doing nothing. We drove to cape cod inn. The lobby was nice, the cost was 300 more then royal canadian, we checked in but our room wasn't ready for another hour. We drove down the strip and counted the blocks! 25 of them until the begining of the boardwalk. So we stopped at Carideon, the manager was super nice, gave us the same price and the bedbug hotel, had us do a full check in the room, we then drove back to the cape cod inn. By now I am annnoyed and tired, I walked in with my son and asked for my money back, they gave a little bit of a fight, until I pulled my sons binky out of his mouth and he stared to cry, the lady voided my card and let us leave, we then went back to carideon checked in. They have been great, at first he wasn't going to rent to us until we told him are things have been all cleaned. We then unloaded once again and stared over. I am now 22I hours I've been up. And as soon as I fall asleep my little one will wake up to eat. So never again to royal canadian.

Response to complaint of 3/31/12 below - I was the manager on duty the evening the bed bug report came. I am state certified by the NJDEP as a commercial pesticide applicator with exams passed in the Category 7A - General and household Pest Control and CORE. When any bug issue is reported I take it very seriously. Under no circumstances did I claim the bug shown to me in a cup was a beetle. It would be a violation of my license and personal code of conduct to make such specious and unethical cla

ims. Under no circumstances were a swarm of bugs or any bugs found upon my inspection of the room. I did not hesitate to offer a different room or a full refund. The next afternoon, the customer's neighbor and friend who was staying in the next room issued a similar complaint but they presented no proof and they did not wish me to inspect the room until they were packed up. The guest also dismissed me when I asked her to describe what she saw saying "I'm not a bug expert." They too received a full refund. Following that, both rooms were thoroughly inspected and treated. I did not find any bugs nor did I find any telltale signs of bedbug feces marks. However, I felt it incumbent upon me to satisfy our guests and take their claims in good faith and to (of course) treat the rooms with pest control measures. Subsequently all rooms along the very same corridor and the corridor across were thoroughly inspected over the course of a few hours. Headboards, mattresses, and box-springs were pulled up, and I was present to inspect every room. I found no bugs or signs of bugs, and the guests who were staying in those rooms reported no issues whatsoever despite knowing why we were there. The rest of their stay and the entire season went perfect with no reports of bugs whatsoever. We are proud of the way we handled the situation. The idea that we made denials or tried to claim it was a "beetle" is shocking and absolutely false. Again, we take this issue very seriously and we are a rare hotel at which there is an NJDEP certified manager working on site.

We arrived at the hotel during Beach Blast weekend, June 2011. We were not in the room much after arrival due to going to boardwalk. That evening after being out on boardwalk and pool, we all went to bed. My daughter was in one of the double beds, we in the other. I was about to turn the light off and realized my daughter doesn't like sleeping with her top sheet tucked in. So, I pulled it out from the mattress. When I did a small reddish/brown tick like bug came out from the mattress. Lon

g story short, my husband caught the bug in a cup. Friends in a neighboring room had spray for bugs with them, we woke them up and looked on the can which had a bed bug and YES, that is what we found. We went back in the room luckily our luggage was on a table never open, we took out most things but left extra pillows and blankets we brought in the room. My daughter was hysterical as were both of us. While I waited outside with my daughter, my husband noticed a hole in the box spring, he moved the light towards the hole and moved the mattress a little bit and he said swarms of bugs scurried around and he ran out. He went to the hotel office (woke them up since it was closed for the night) and after much arguing and telling us it was beetles, he got a refund. The next morning we told our other friends staying there and after looking on beds, another room found some as well and checked out. Luckily we found an amazing hotel that left us check in and assured us that they exterminate and treat all rooms once a week, The BLUE PALMS! So, please if you are heading to Wildwood, DO NOT trust the Royal Court. My suggestion would be the BLUE PALMS RESORT!!!

I was staying for firemans convention in Sept. of 2010. I woke up with a bedbug crawling across the bed. I switched rooms, sprayed the new room with bed bug spray and woke up the next morning with a bed bug on my bra. I went to the front desk and asked for money back and gave him the bed bug i saved for him in the cup. He gave me the money $100 dollars back and i packed everything i had in trash bags and went home a day early.
