We needed a cheap place to stay to avoid a late night 2.5 hour drive after a wedding. To make things easier we decided to stay 2 nights in a hotel (one night before and one night after the wedding).
We checked in Friday, Oct 12, 2012. The following morning I noticed I was scatching a lot. I thought they were spider bites but my husband didn't have anything so I thought it was an allergic reaction and I had hives (I have never had hives).
When we got home Sun I took an antihistamine. That
seemed to help; however, Monday it didn't and one of the spots on my hand was very swollen and sore. I went to Urgent Care after work and they told me they were not hives, but bed bug bites.
I called the hotel to explain and the front desk person asked me to contact his boss the following day when he was in. I did and unfortunately the manager would refuse to believe that I had bed bug bites. He said no one else complained. I explained that my husband didn't either that others may not have been bothered, but that I had and I wanted to inform them. All he repeated was that "We do not have that problem".
I plan ask the doctor who saw me write a letter stating that I had bed bug bites.
