I have VERY low expectations for hotel rooms, and this is the first time I've refused to stay at an establishment.
I typically check the mattress in any hotel I stay in. Before this experience, I considered this an unnecessary habit that I ritualistically did to make myself feel better.
After lifting the bed skirt, I immediately found several dead bed bugs on the mattress and saw a live one crawling around. When I notified the front desk, the attendant did not appear shocked (which leads
me to believe that this has been a regular problem). We cancelled the room and found another place. Avoid this place if you can. Disgusting.

My husband had 14 large spots on his body that resembled the description of bed bugs. Although we left the hotel room before investigating for further evidence, we assume that it is bed bugs based on the extreme dirtiness of the room that we stayed in, as well as other reports we found on here and trip advisor.

June 15, 2013. When we were removing the pillows from the bed, my son found a pillow with scuff marks on it and I told him to throw them on the floor, then he spotted a little bug and we killed it. I was then in the bathroom and my son shouted out "MOM THERE IS A BUG ON MY TOWEL" that was on the floor by the bed. I ran out and the towel was on the floor with a full adult "BED BUG!!!!!" I pinched the towel so that the bug couldn't escape and ran down the hall to the front desk clerk, who then g
ot a plastic sandwich bag and captured the LIVE BED BUG!! She was going to save it to show the other staff. Upon coming back to the room I told the kids we need to move as fast as we could to get out!! When collecting items, I looked at the bed and noticed another beg bug and I called the front desk to have them review. She did and apologized and then we quickly left the room. Clerk was just as upset as I.. We left and felt disgusted and itchy.. We pulled over to the side of the road and looked up on my phone to see if this hotel was reported having bed bugs and we did find several reviews and one only days prior to are arrival on the bedbugregistry.com. I am so upset and it took us a full day to clean everything we had in that room! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Stayed 1 night on 6/3/13. We found 2 bed bugs in the morning and later counted 17 bites on my wife. Reported the details to management.
If we had not found the bed bugs, we might not have known what occurred as this is our first experience with bed bugs. The bites showed up over a period time of about 12 hours. Information on the Internet was very helpful in identifying and immediately taking precautions to avoid bringing them home.
I wish I knew about this site before booking as it might
have saved my family from this bad experience.

Must have been in a pillow. I woke up with what looked like knots on my head.

My family and I had to spend 1 month at this hotel. After a week my son and daughters complained of bug bites. I looked but found nothing. We finally closed on a house and it seems that the bugs camped in our luggage and have now infested our new house. The cost for an exterminator to kill these little bugs is astronomical.
Never again will we stay at a Microtel!

Checked into this hotel 6/13/11--room was less than clean for sure--candy on the floor under the dust ruffles, a half consumed cola in the mini fridge, empty TP tube on the roller in the bathroom. Found a bedbug crawling next to my 2 month old at midnight. We took the bug to the hotel desk. The night desk clerk didn't appear to be surprised. Hotel not helpful at all in taking care of the matter. The night clerk did finally come ask if he could help us take our bags to the car. Spoke to the ho
tel manager and he said there really wasn't anything they could do to compensate us. We asked the hotel owner to call us and haven't heard a word from him.

11-16-10...I woke up to blood on the sheets and discovered I had been bitten by bedbugs after we pulled down the mattress cover and saw the bugs. I had more than 35 bites. I immediately phoned down to the front desk. They were less than helpful. They sent up a maintenance man who took a sample of the bugs, and then they sent up trash bags. They never once offered to help with laundering our clothes or anything. They didn't give us any suggestions on what to do, not even where the nearest la
undromat was. They acted like since they didn't charge us for the stay there was nothing else they could do. The lady at the front desk became visibly angry at me when I asked for a copy of the receipt that she had written "No charge, bed bugs." This is one of the most horrible experiences ever. Everyone that works there should be ashamed of their establishment. Whatever you do, avoid this hotel at all costs!!! It's not worth it. I had to seek treatment at a local Urgent Treatment Center because of all the bites.

I worked there earlier this summer and I know for a fact that they had a hand full of rooms that had bedbugs, and the managment was taking their time in correcting this problem.
