My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel last night as his mom is currently in ICU in downtown Louisville. I was sitting on one of our two queen beds this morning when I saw a bug coming towards me. It was the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil. After some googling and looking around the room we realized that the room was absolutely infested with bed bugs!!!!!! There were bugs lining the mattresses and behind the headboards. We notified the front desk and was told that we were
wrong and there were not bed bugs at their hotel. The woman at the front desk said they were inspected in January and were cleared of bed bugs. This was an absolute lie as these bugs were HUGEEEE and everywhere!! The man behind the desk (who we had asked for help with our heater last night) stood behind the fort desk clerk shaking his head "no." When I asked him if he'd like to see a picture or come up to the room he walked away.
The clerk then said that she would see about getting us a partial refund which I told her was not acceptable. We asked for garbage bags to put all of our clothes and stuff in and she gave us a hand full of small garbage can bags (bathroom can size). I told her that wouldn't work so she said the most she could give us was one large bag which was also unacceptable.
We returned to our room and captured 7 bugs in a plastic cup and took them to the front desk. The bugs were pretty big- tick size. The front desk then proceeded to give us as many bags as we needed as well as quarters to heat our clothes in the dryer (heat kills the bugs). They also gave us a full refund.
Unfortunately we had to drive two hours to Lawrenceburg IN to my family's house to disinfect and shower. My boyfriend had to make sure he was completely free of bed bugs before he went back to Louisville to see his mom in ICU.
Summary: this hotel is ABSOLUTELY INFESTED. The staff was rude and acted as if we were lying until we brought them a cup of bed bugs.
My family stayed in this hotel in 3 different rooms. One of the three rooms, room 104, had bed bugs. Thankfully this was not my room! We packed up fast the next morning and hit the road. When checking out/getting a refund the manager was very quick to get us our refund with no argument-it was as if he already knew there were bed bugs on the property.
