We stayed at the Embassy Suites from December 27-30, 2012 in room 429. I noted bites on my arm after the first day but didn't think too much of it (attributed to being in Florida). However, the night of Dec 29 I spotted bedbugs in our bed. Being a physician, I immediately recognized the bugs. At that point, I had bites all over my arms and shoulders. It was the middle of the night and my husband went down to inform the front desk, who did not take it seriously and he was told the manager would b
e informed in the morning. We were also told there were no rooms available for us to move into. So we spent the rest of the night back and forth to the laundry trying to sterilize all our clothes. We were going on a cruise the next morning and did not want to carry any bedbugs with us. Fortunately, our daughters, who were asleep in the room next door, were not affected. Four hours later, at 5 AM, we were told there was a room available, but since we were leaving that morning and were not getting any more sleep that night, we opted not to move. Although the front desk manager at the time was nice not to charge us for the room, I do not feel this compensated for the stress, hassle, and discomfort associated with the incident.
