We stayed here Sept. 28, 2012. This place needs to be shut down by the health dept. bed bugs, dirty, cockroaches, just really disgusting.

This place is disgusting. We had a bedbug problem in our room and ended up sleeping in our car that night beacause of nowhere else to sleep. (My wife, my 7 year old daughter and I). Fortunately, we were not bitten. I saw 6 bugs on the sheets at 4:00am in the morning. When I pulled back the sheets completely, there were bedbugs everywhere.
The front counter clerk offered us another room, but it was just as filthy and vagrants were camping just outside the door.
doesn't care and were completely rude. Calls made to the management after this incident were not returned. When I finally reached the management, she told me that I was lying and that a refund would not be given, then she hung up the phone on me. I had to argue with Hotels.com until they agreed to a full refund.
This is being written in June, 2011, 2 years after the incident took place. With the attitude the way it was with management, I would strongly bet the problem has not been addressed. I am only writing this now because I came across this website on AOL and wanted to inform others as to what we experienced. It was a bad enough experience that I felt I had to let others know.
If you can't find anywhere else to stay, and this is your last resort, I suggest you stay home.
Room 211 (right next to the one reported a year ago)
MASSIVE bed bug infestation. All over the sheets and our baby. One was big enough we were later informed that they had been there over a year. The documentation from this website here proves it on other post. Got our money and ran.
NASTY!! DONT GO THERE!!!!!!

02/21/09 We checked in to room 210 at the Paradise Inn by the Beach in Santa Cruz and were scared just walking in the room. It was filthy and smelled like a public restroom that had been cleaned with industrial strength cleaner. We woke up to a large bed bug right by our faces on a pillow. I smashed it and blood shot out. We didn't find any other bugs but were afraid to look. We spent hours so far bagging everything we have, washing, treating, etc. We even have to trear the car as a preventative
