Hotel Manager on 06/04/2013
This post is in response to the above post made by Anonymous dated 06.02.11. I am the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Clara and I think it is great that there are websites like this to help travelers. Our hotels take claims of bed bugs very seriously as I am sure all hotels do. We have a very detailed process that we follow anytime a claim like this is made by a guest. First, the room gets immediately sealed off along with the contents then a complete in house inspectio
n is done by trained staff members which I am one of them. Secondly, we contact our pest control company for an emergency room inspection for which there is a charge. Upon their complete report, the room is released to rent or it is quarantined to be fumigated. After reviewing the incident mentioned above, reports indicate that the room was released and nothing was found. All incidents and claims and their findings are documented.

I stayed there on May 31, 2011. I have multiple bites on my upper arm and chest in a nice line. I also have one on my knee. I have experienced bed bugs before so I know what they look like. They don't always appear on me immediately so there may be more bites. I have notified the hotel and I hope that they take some action.
