I will preface this by stating that 3 years ago I had bedbugs while staying at a student co-op, so I am very familiar with bedbugs, detection, etc.
On Nov 20th, 2015 I checked in at this hotel. After the first night, I noticed 3 blood stains on my sheets (each about 3 inches from each other). This alarmed me because I didn't do any activities that would have made me bleed.
I inspected the mattress and noticed that the mattress protector (or bb cover) that was in place was torn in more than 4
locations. I also noticed many (well over 10) molted skins, which was alarming because it meant that it hadn't been vacuumed/cleaned since the last time they had bedbugs (and obviously they have had it because I saw dark stains everywhere ie: washed sheets that have had droppings in the past, and also the hotel staff admitted to previous infestations, hence why there was a bedbug cover on the mattress)
I did not observe actual bedbugs because I did not have the time, and did not feel comfortable flipping the mattress, but the signs were everywhere.
The manager at this hotel (Carmela Galapo) was rude and condescending when I brought this up. She did refund me 1 night stay, which was comical considering how negligent they had been in cleaning the mattress and maintaining the mattress cover from getting torn.
