Concerned Cristina on 11/12/2012
The nights that followed the start of my stay on the evening of Thursday, November 1, 2012; I started to notice small red bumps on my skin. They looked like tiny hives and thought I was having an allergic reaction in California. I took allergy medicine for a few days and they did not improve. I began to suspect bed bugs, on Tuesday, November 6. I lifted up the covers and looked at the top mattress seams the bed to see if I saw any bugs and I did not see anything. Each day I noticed more and more
red bumps on my skin. The morning of my check out date, Friday, November 9 I woke up feeling like I was being poked with needles in my foot. I turned on the light, and there were three bed bugs on my foot. this confirmed the suspicions I had during the last few days. The red bumps were indeed from bed bugs. The hotel paid for the entire week and a half I was there and offered to purchase a new luggage bag once I send them a receipt. Since then, I threw out my luggage bag, washed all my clothes in hot water and disinfected every item that was in my luggage bag, hoping to quarantine the bed bugs. This was the most bizarre hotel experience I have ever had.
