I travelled to Anchorage for work at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, so I chose the Crown Plaza Hotel for lodging through out my duration which was from Jun 1st till Jun 17. I checked in and went to my room, 313 and everything was fine for the first couple of days, I then noticed some welts/bite marks on and around my left knee. Didn't think anything of it, some more bite marks/welts started appearing on my legs, stomach and chest. Informed and showed my coworkers, who said it sounded like b
edbugs and that I should inform the hotel. Informed hotel staff June 10th or 11th and they walked me through their procedures, allowed housekeeping into my room and went to work. Pictures were taken of bites/welts for their records/insurance. While at work received phone call from Manager informing me the bedbug sniffing dog made a positive affirmation on the bed side rail of the bed I had been sleeping in, the hotel manager informed me that all my clothes except what I was wearing were being heatened up to the proper degrees to kill the pests and cleaned. The room was also being properly treated and I was being relocated to another room. I was also informed that my medicines and doctor bills would be reimbursed if I sought treatment. I did seek treatment first in the form of anti-itch cream and finally a visit to the urgent care, which I paid out of pocket and was eventually reimbursed by the hotel's insurance. This hotel and staff were very courteous and adapt in handling of this situation and I'm glad that they took care of me and sought my well being from the moment I informed them of the issue.
